Harris’ Bad Joke About Prison Inmates Begging For Water

The Washington Post was recently caught removing an unflattering anecdote from a 2019 story of then-Sen. Kamala Harris and her sister, Maya Harris. In the article, Kamala had talked about her all-encompassing schedule and how squeezing in a morning SoulCycle session or sitting behind a bar felt like a starving prisoner getting food or water. She explained that even the shortest break from the campaign was a welcome respite.

“It’s a treat that a prisoner gets when they ask for, ‘A morsel of food please,’ ” Kamala said shoving her hands forward as if clutching a metal plate, her voice now trembling like an old British man locked in a Dickensian jail cell. “‘And water! I just want wahtahhh….’Your standards really go out the f—ing window,” the article reads.

After Harris was elected Vice President, the memorable anecdote vanished from the Post’s website. The paper had “updated” the piece earlier this month to compare now-Vice President Harris’ relationship with her sister to that of former President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert. They whitewashed the article by talking about how Maya has “been a constant companion along Kamala Harris’ journey into history.” The change was caught by other libertarian magazines who had linked the first edition – prompting the Post to restore the original 2019 feature and a link to it in its Jan. 11 story.

“We should have kept both versions of the story on the Post’s site (the original and updated one), rather than redirecting to the updated version. We have now done that, and you will see the link to the original at the top of the updated version,” said Washington Post Communications Vice President Kris Coratti.

The magazine noted that Coratti didn’t provide any other examples of updates or say if the Harris reps had asked for the change. Harris’ press secretary Sabrina Singh had declined to comment on the Washington Post story. The updated piece still raises questions on Kamala’s troubling past as a cop and politician, as well as how left-leaning media platforms will report on her moving forward.

Using the terms “repurposing” and “updating” have also been coined by left-leaning media platforms, instead of what should be called “propagandizing.” Over the last few months, Democrats have just started to attack free speech, particularly conservative speech, by censoring information, changing historical facts, and deleting thousands of conservative Twitter accounts.

With the stakes surrounding the public’s trust in the media at a fever pitch, it’s hard to imagine why such an editorial change was made – other than to cover up a Vice President’s true character.
