Dems Just Appointed Anti-Police Ex-Gang Member As Diversity Advisor

Published on

The Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee recently appointed Dyjuan Tatro, an ex-gang member, in a top leadership position as a senior adviser for diversity and inclusion.

With a long felony record, Tatro was ranked as a “triggerman” with the Original Gangsta Killers, an Albany gang, convicted of two shootings in 2006, and a racketeering charge in 2011. Tatro has also admitted to slashing a gang member with a razor and extensive drug dealing, making at least $12,000 a month and trafficking more than 50 grams of crack cocaine.

Tatro is known for appearing in “College Behind Bars,” a 2019 PBS documentary series about inmates trying to earn their degrees through New York State’s Bard Prison Initiative. While in the program, Tatro earned his bachelor’s degree and was a part of a three-inmate debate team that famously defeated the Harvard undergraduate debate team in the Catskills, earning national headlines. A 2009 sentencing memo also reveals that he was in touch of members of the gang while incarcerated, raising questions as to when his gang association ended.

In a series of tweets, Tatro wrote about police reform after the storming at the Capitol and in the wake of the death of George Floyd. He used the disclaimer “my views” in his Twitter bio to refer police officers as “white supremacists” and characterize looting as “protests against systemic racism.”

“To all those people who want to reform the police because all cops aren’t bad, should we just go ahead and revive Nazism because all Nazis weren’t bad? I didn’t think so. Case closed,” he wrote on Twitter in June.

Tatro even criticized both President Biden and Vice President Harris in posts more than a month after Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the 2020 Democratic presidential primary. He wrote that Joe Biden has “caused, orchestrated, and perpetuated in communities of color.” He called President Biden “an architect of mass incarceration” and that he has helped ruin the lives of millions of Americans. “PLEASE DON’T OVERLOOK THIS ASPECT OF HIS CHARACTER,” Tatro tweeted In April 2019 – one day after Biden entered the presidential race.

Tatro also slammed Kamala Harris, saying she waged war on black and brown bodies by using the “same line police use when they murder unarmed Black men.”

House Democrats have defended their decision to hire Tatro even after initial reports on his prior gang affiliation and support to defund the police. Many, including Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, are unimpressed by Tatro’s qualifications and tweets. “The inmates are literally running the asylum. If this is a sign of what’s to come I guess we expect the Democrats’ slate of 2022 candidates to include convicts, cop haters and looters,” she said.

It’s astounding how one minute Democrats condemn Rep. Lauren Boebert for legally carrying a firearm and the next appoint a gang-affiliated triggerman. Where does the hypocrisy end?
