Psaki Fumbles For Words Talking About Biden’s Child Migrant Camps

Remember when Democrats went after former President Trump and called it a “human rights abuse” to detain children crossing the border? “Children in cages” was the source of controversy and protests for the radical left under the Trump era. Now, the Biden Administration announced they would be reopening a “migrant facility” for children apprehended at the U.S border while trying to enter the country. The facility would open in Carrizo Springs, Texas, and hold up to 700 children ages 13 to 17. The radical left went from “children in cages” and concentration camp claims to “migrant facilities.” Very clever.

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy called out White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki for the administration’s blatant hypocrisy on repeatedly bashing the Trump administration for taking the same actions. “We’ve seen some photos now of containers. Is there a better description? Is it kids in containers instead of kids in cages? What is the White House’s description of this facility?” He asked.

“So it’s a temporary reopening during COVID-19. “Our intention is very much to close it, but we want to ensure that we can follow COVID protocols, as unaccompanied minors come into the United States,” Psaki replied.

Doocy pointed out it’s the same facility that was open for a month during the Trump Administration in the summer of 2019. He pointed to numerous comments Joe Biden and Kamala Harris made about “babies in cages” and horrifying scenes of kids at the border. “So how is that any different?” Doocy questioned.

Psaki repeatedly lies that the Health and Human Service Facilities follow different standards than the previous administration and blames COVID-19 for the situation they are in. “These are facilities, let me be clear here, one, there’s a pandemic going on. I’m sure you’re not suggesting that we have children right next to each other in ways that are not COVID safe, are you?”

“I’m suggesting that Kamala Harris said that this facility, putting people in this facility, was a human rights abuse committed by the United States government and Joe Biden said, under Trump there have been horrifying scenes at the border of kids being kept in cages. Now it’s not under Trump, it’s under Biden,” Doocy pointed out.

Psaki was also asked about the reports that hundreds of children were detained by Customs and Border Patrol before being transferred to an HHS facility. She said that some children “unfortunately” stayed longer due to weather and a lack of capacity, but would not further comment on the matter. She told reporters they could contact Customs and Border Patrol for further details.

So much for all of that “transparency” the Democrats talked about having in the White House. They can’t even get the Press Secretary to answer basic questions that have obvious answers.
