Republican strategists recently aligned with Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp to launch efforts in targeting Democratic activist Stacey Abrams, who will be certain to challenge him next year in a potential 2022 gubernatorial run.
The group named itself “Stop Stacey” and will build a national fundraising operation looking to uncover shady voter groups who try to undermine election integrity. They look to challenge Abrams with opposition research, digital ads, and other paid media to unite grassroots Republicans nationwide.
“We will do whatever it takes to expose Stacey Abrams’ radical network, highlight her dangerous agenda, and ultimately defeat her — and her left-wing candidates — at the ballot box. There is no time to waste: We must stand up, fight back, and Stop Stacey,” said the group’s senior strategist, Jeremy Brand.
Abrams first lost to Kemp back in 2018 by less than 55,000 votes out of nearly 4 million cast. She argued that Kemp used his post as Georgia’s secretary of state to make it harder for people to vote and created a voting rights group Fair Fight, which helped register thousands of new voters in her state.
Fair Fight become the most dominant Democratic-supporting fundraising group in the state, contributing to the November 3 presidential election and two Senate runoff elections last month. This made Abrams the first Democrat in more than a quarter-century to flip the red-state Georgia for Biden in the 2020 election cycle. Fair Fight’s CEO responded to the win by telling Republicans to “start serving Georgians” and had even bragged about its members knocking on millions of doors and making millions of phone calls leading up to the race.
Fair Fight is being recently investigated by Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger for promoting illegal voting. There were hundreds of accusations of widespread voter fraud and encouraging nonresidents to vote, even sending Raffensberger’s son multiple postcards who’d died two years ago.
Abrams also helped Democratic allies Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Georgia’s Senate runoff elections, which gave Democrats the majority in the chamber and was briefly considered by Biden as his running mate. She ultimately turned down offers to run for the Senate.
Brand talked about how grassroots Republicans had lost the White House and United States to Abram’s socialist backers who helped orchestrate a total takeover in the 2022 election. Billionaires like George Soros helped Fair Fight raise over $90 million in a two-year period and support Democrats in Georgia’s 2020 faces.
Too many Americans feel their votes were rigged and that the Democrats will continue to cheat every chance they get, suppressing votes and winning on baseless ideas. While Abrams has not yet confirmed her candidacy, Gov. Kemp plans to run for reelection and is leading in early polls regarding the potential rematch.
