President Joe Biden recently made the announcement that Vice President Kamala Harris will be leading the efforts against the surge of illegal immigrants crossing the border each day. While the administration was eager to reverse many of former President Trump’s immigration policies as a political play, their actions ended up resulting in overcrowded migrant facilities with nearly 12,000 children present and growth of human trafficking and Cartel involvement at the Border. There have been, on average, about 5,000 migrants per day crossing the border, which is a 50% increase from February’s numbers.
President Biden spoke of Kamala Harris’s experience as California attorney general from 2004-2015 and “fighting organized crime,” but failed to mention what Harris plans to do about their current situation. She spent years in the golden state rejecting the Supreme Court’s orders to reduce overcrowding in California prisons and prevented the release of nearly 5,000 nonviolent offenders. She was criticized numerous times for fighting to keep people, including innocent ones, in prison.
Harris’s office refused to answer the Supreme Court’s objection and defying the federal court order, which brought attention to her unconstitutional rulings. She even weaponized ‘technicalities,’ such as DNA testing, to keep wrongfully convicted people behind bars rather than allowing them a new trial. Some suggest that her vicious criminal justice record killed her presidential run in the first place.
Now VP Harris is being slammed as the ‘worst possible choice’ for the crisis at the U.S-Mexico border. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey said that Harris has made no point in her career that she considers the border to be a serious threat or problem at all. “If President Biden’s intent was to show that he’s taking this issue seriously, he’s really done the exact opposite. I’ve been governor under three presidents and this is by far the worst situation we’ve seen. Washington has never been more out of touch, and it starts at the top,” Ducey said during a visit at the border last week.
VP Harris has remained inexplicably quiet throughout the border crisis and hasn’t visited the border once, which has been growing rapidly in the surge of illegal migrants over the last few weeks. Since President Biden issued her to tackle the crisis, Harris has still made no mention of her plans for addressing the issue or traveling south. The Biden administration is even asking for “government volunteers” for up to 120 days to help manage the current crisis. She has supposedly been more “frustrated” over the ongoing renovations at the vice president’s mansion, leaving her and husband Doug Emhoff to temporarily guest at the Blair House.
In a recent video outside of Air Force One, a reporter asked Harris if she had “plans to visit” the southern border anytime soon. Harris replied “not today,” before laughing and adding that she had visited “before.” Even former President Trump told Fox News’ Judge Jeanine that he will be visiting the southern border over the next few weeks.
“Thousands and thousands of people are coming up right now as we speak. And you’re going to have millions of people pouring into our country. And it’s going to destroy our country. We’re not getting along with Mexico any longer. You have a great president of Mexico who was fantastic to me,” Trump said.
Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador even told reporters that the surge of migrants at the border is due to President Biden’s promises and expectations to them. “They see Biden as the migrant president and so many feel they’re going to reach the United States. We need to work together to regulate the flow because this business can’t be tackled from one day to the next,” he said.
While serious concerns arise in the face of several political leaders and facilities grow more overcrowded by the day, one has to ask: Where is Kamala Harris?
Nothing like another politican photo-op while thousands of children are sitting in your migrant facilities. When will you be visiting the Border? https://t.co/BzswQoILDA
