Why Democrats Don’t Care How Many Sexual Harassment Claims Are Stacked Against Cuomo

Published on

Democrats have been starting to turn against one another for quite some time now. After adding fuel to the ‘Me Too’ Movement and the radical left ‘Cancel Culture,’ a lot of leaders are now growing oddly silent, and even defending Gov. Andrew Cuomo, over the eight women who have come forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct in the workplace.

The eighth woman to come forward is Cuomo’s current aide, Alyssa McGrath, who shared that the governor tried to have her cover up the allegations that he groped one of her colleagues while also having her own creepy encounters. She said that he has asked her multiple times about her lack of a wedding ring and the status of her divorce, as well as telling her, in Italian, that she’s beautiful and looking down her blouse to complement a necklace. She shared that while Cuomo did not physically touch her, the actions amounted to sexual harassment and made the workplace extremely uncomfortable.

Cuomo, however, has claimed the allegations to be false and that he “never touched anyone inappropriately.” But ratings for the governor have plummeted among New Yorkers as calls for resignation and criminal investigations continue. There has also been a federal probe into the administration after one of Cuomo’s former aides admitted that they covered up the deaths of nursing home residents during COVID-19 in order to avoid “public scrutiny” from then-President Trump and the public.

In a new Quinnipiac University survey, Cuomo’s rating stands at 39% for being favorable, the lowest it has been in over a decade. Cuomo is also polling in at 48% of New Yorkers disapproving of the job he’s doing with the state. Another poll asked if they thought Cuomo was “honest and trustworthy,” which racked in at only 28% saying he was and six out of ten individuals claiming he’s not. With his numbers plummeting on being honest and with integrity during the pandemic, as well as the multiple sexual harassment accusations against him for creating a toxic workplace, where’s the outcry from the left?

Several high-profile New York Democrats, such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, have demanded Cuomo’s resignation while others have made enough hypocritical comments for some eye-rolls. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, for one, has asked Cuomo to “look in his heart” and find a way to govern efficiently and President Joe Biden has said that the “investigation” will determine what has happened and to let every victim share their story.

Vice President Kamala Harris even recently spoke at a United Nations Commission about “empowering women” but refused to acknowledge any of Cuomo’s accusers. She was one of the stronger advocates fighting against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who had a single 20-year-old accusation against him that had been twisted and turned in the courts by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. The radical left went from “believe all women” to “let them share their story.” The hypocrisy is unreal.

Former first lady Hillary Clinton spoke out in response to the allegations against the governor and had less-than-kind words to share about the women who have come forward. She acted like she didn’t know who Cuomo really is, even after he served as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under then-President Clinton between 1997 and 2001. “These stories are difficult to read and the allegations brought forth raise serious questions that the women who have come forward and all New Yorkers deserve answers to,” Clinton said.

Lindsey Boylan, one of the first women to accuse Cuomo of sexual harassment, ripped Clinton for her tone-deaf comments and adds that “there’s no way you don’t know who this man is if you’ve worked with, or around, him for decades.” While she said the former Secretary of State was one of her personal “heroes,” all of that has changed since the Cuomo scandal. While Clinton said she was glad to see a “full, independent, and thorough investigation,” there were no talks of “believing all women.” This is much different from how she spoke of Kavanaugh back in 2018 where she described his behavior as ‘out of bounds’ and found Ford’s testimony to be very credible and convincing. She even emphasized that the FBI should conduct as “thorough an investigation as they possibly can within whatever restraints are imposed upon them.”

But then again, it’s not a surprise that Hillary Clinton is out to make this a political game. Just look at who she married and through every cheating affair, she stuck by as she got closer and closer to power. That’s all it is to Democrats – a power game.
