Why President Biden Finally Called The Border A ‘Crisis’

President Joe Biden has finally admitted that there is a crisis at the border. Throughout the last few months, we’ve seen the Biden Administration and White House press secretary Jen Psaki refuse to use the word “crisis” and play word salad with reporters and the public over the surge of migrants flooding the border by calling it a “challenge” or “imperialism crisis.”

Over the last week, the far-left has lashed out at President Biden for refusing to increase the refugee cap. While he campaigned on the promise to raise the refugee cap to 125,000, reports indicated that the Biden Administration would keep the same historically low number that President Trump had, which was a refugee cap of 15,000.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki even announced that their initial goal of 62,500 seems unlikely and blamed it by saying that this was given due to the “decimated refugee admissions program we inherited.” She even said that there were burdens on the Office of Refugee Resettlement.

It was only during a recent report on Saturday that Biden has caved into the radical left pressure and will increase the refugee cap. That’s when he slipped the word “crisis.”

“We’re going to increase the number. The problem was that the refugee part was working on the crisis that ended up on the border with young people. We couldn’t do two things at once. But now we are going to increase the number,” President Biden said.

Oops.

Shortly after this announcement, about 450 unaccompanied migrant girls, ages 13 to 17, were abruptly moved out of a Houston migrant facility on Saturday. The girls at the facility have been there since April 1, which was being operated by the National Association of Christian Churches.

Cesar Espinosa, director of the group FIEL Houston, said there was a lot of confusion as to what was happening at the facility and that they spotted ambulances and law enforcement vehicles outside of the building. Advocates said some people appeared to look like they were in a sad stance, with their heads bowed down and wiping away tears.

It was reported later on that the closure and transfer of the girls were due to overcrowding in the facility, but that an adult staffer had died there Friday night in an incident unrelated to the transfer of the girls. The death was a federal employee from the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, as well as a volunteer.

The report says the volunteer experienced a medical emergency, due to underlying health conditions, and later passed away. Nothing is revealed about what led up to the episode and the person’s name is still not public. The volunteer had toured the facility and told migrant facility staffers that there was no room for social distancing under the U.S Department of Health and Human Service guidelines.

“Today, HHS announced that all of the children in HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) care at the Emergency Intake Site (EIS) for Unaccompanied Children at the National Association of Christian Churches site in Houston, Texas (NACC Houston) will be immediately unified with sponsors or transferred to an appropriate ORR facility,” the statement reads.

Espinosa has also discussed touring the facility during the coronavirus pandemic. “There was really no space for social distancing. … They were only allowed to get up from their cot to use the restroom as well as to shower. Everything that was being brought in was temporary. The showers were temporary, they were bringing in temporary restrooms, so this space was not equipped to house anybody, much less children,” he said.

Meanwhile, buses were seen leaving and arriving at the shelter and nearly 130 of the reported 450 girls already have plans to be united with a sponsor.

The radical left government will fund bus and air travel for illegal migrants to socially distance in free housing while shutting down small businesses run by law-abiding Americans. That’s where their priorities are. President Biden slipped the word “crisis” because he knows that’s what it really is.
