Anti-Terrorism Group Shifting Priorities From The Taliban To Censoring Right-Wing Speech

The Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT), a group formed by Big Tech companies, announced they would begin using Taliban-based software to aggressively target right-wing militia groups. At this point, target means anyone who is a Christian, Trump supporter, or against Marxism/Communism.

The group’s executive director Nicholas Rasmussen said that threats of far-right extremism are “demanding attention right now,” yet this is another move to unionize Big Tech and establishment liberalism to censor the internet (and the narrative).

GIFCT announced they would be shifting focus from Islamic extremists linked to Al Qaeda, ISIS, and the Taliban to right-wing groups, including the Proud Boys, The Three Percenters, and neo-Nazis. They would add manifestos, posts, and links from far-right militias to a shared database between the U.S intelligence agency and other counties.

The database would allow GIFCT to aggregate hashes or digital signatures of images, videos, and URLs for logged content. This helped the group easily crackdown on Islamist extremist organizations.

On the exact same day, PayPal announced they would be working with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to help “suppress” right-wing extremists and share their data with law enforcement. They said they would also monitor how extremists leverage financial platforms to fund criminal activity. Reporter Glen Greenwald pointed out that the ADL is completely liberal and aligned with the DNC.

Big Tech and their allies have gotten so suppressive of conservative speech that Sen. Ron Johnson and several GOP colleagues are demanding answers from President Joe Biden. They want him to speak more about the White House’s admission that they are also working with social media companies to flag and censor posts for disinformation. Johnson said Big Tech has become Big Brother and that they are only flagging the posts they find problematic.

“It is outrageous the Biden administration is coordinating with Big Tech to infringe on American citizens’ First Amendment freedoms. This is a dangerous assault on freedom of speech and Big Tech, the mainstream media and the administration have no credibility in determining what is and isn’t misinformation,” Johnson said.

Johnson, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, and six other GOP members joined in on a letter to the president and told him that the Administration needs to halt any actions that censor Americans’ speech. They said any efforts by the government to collude with social media is considered a “dangerous assault” on the Americans’ First Amendment right to freedom of speech.

While the Biden Administration has pointed the finger at Facebook for not doing enough to “combat misinformation” on COVID-19 related content, other senators have suggested holding the social media companies accountable for the health-related misinformation being pushed on their sites.

Conservatives have argued against censorship across social media platforms, with critics of social media companies growing louder after former president Donald Trump was banned from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Trump also announced a Big Tech lawsuit earlier this month to address the shadow-banning, censorship and silencing.

It’s always interesting how leftists only care about their nonsensical far-right extremist threats while actual left-wing threats such as Antifa and BLM run around destroying communities. They claim to be cracking down on “white supremacists and far-right militias” but we know it’s much more than that.
