Arizona AG Sues Biden Admin Over Cancelling Border Wall Construction, Calls It Is An Environmental Crisis

Former President Donald Trump took the stage Sunday at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas to reiterate his calls for a border wall and his border policies as President. He announced that Gov. Greg Abbott, who he endorsed for reelection, recently announced that the state of Texas is building its own wall along the border. Trump said it was that the Biden Administration has turned the border into the “single greatest disaster in American history.”

This comes right after Arizona’s Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced that his office was filing a lawsuit against the Biden Administration’s efforts to end the border wall construction and the “Remain In Mexico” policy, which was implemented under Trump. Texas also sued the Biden Administration for its plans to end a 100-day deportation moratorium. Gov. Greg Abbott accused the Biden Administration of completely abandoning U.S immigration laws and border states.

Arizona first sued the Department of Homeland Security for not complying with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) when it ended the construction and policies. The government did not carry out a review of the environmental damage by reversing Trump-era policies.

A report from the AG’s office cites that each migrant crossing leaves up to 8 pounds of trash including human waste, medical products, vehicles, and plastic containers. It also reports the unprecedented number of migrants crossing the border in May alone. The lawsuit insists that the administration analyzes the environmental impacts, rescinds the cancellation of the wall contracts, and reinstates Trump-era policies.

“There is no doubt that the Biden Administration’s immigration policies are causing a humanitarian, public safety, and environmental crisis at our border. I will do everything I can to stop their destructive actions and protect Arizona,” Brnovich said.

Arizona and Montana also looked at ending some of the restrictive Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) policies that were in place. They said that the current policies dramatically narrowed down the number of illegal immigrants targeted for arrest and deportation. At this point, the Biden administration was blinding releasing thousands of people spreading COVID-19 into border states.

Rep. Ken Buck also argued a different point that if the left believes America is “systemically racist” then they would be in support of building a wall to keep people from coming to such a “racist country.”

“If this is such a terrible country if the left believes with all their heart that America is racist, systemically racist, and terrible in so many ways, why don’t they build the wall on the southern border? Why don’t they stop illegal immigrants from coming into this terrible country? They welcome illegal immigrants coming in. In fact, illegal immigrants want to come into this country. Because they know it’s such a great country,” Buck said.

He told Fox News Radio that “Fox Across America” that if the Democrats really wanted to protect illegal immigrants from “white supremacy” and “racism” then they would want the wall built.

It’s a good point to make. If America is such a “racist and terrible country” then what’s with the surge of illegal immigrants?
