BLM Blames U.S Embargo For The Violent Protests In Cuba

Published on

Black Lives Matter really went for Cuba’s oppressed citizens and blamed the violent protests happening right now on the US opposition to the “Communist revolution.” The group released a statement ignoring the protesters’ call for freedom and reports of police brutality and major arrests in the area. They blamed the US embargo for “destabilizing” the country and undermining the Cubans’ right to choose their own government.

“The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination. United States leaders have tried to crush this revolution for decades,” BLM wrote.

BLM even praised President Miguel Diaz-Canel’s oppressive regime, adding that they will continue to protect Black revolutionaries. They also named Assata Shakur, the former Black Panther who murdered a New Jersey state trooper and fled prison in 1979, as well as Shakur, one of the FBI’s most wanted terrorists and Tupac Shakur’s godmother.

BLM blamed the crisis and the heart of Cuba’s suffering on the U.S government, saying that the country has lost an estimated $130 billion in food, medicine, and supplies. They also blamed COVID-19 mismanagement and that it is hard for Cuba to develop its own COVID-19 vaccine.

Many social media users were quick to point out that BLM just sided with the oppressors and refused to criticize any of the police brutality in Cuba right now. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Cuban-American, called it out for the organization for what it really is.

“The extortionist ring known as the Black Lives Matter organization took a break today from shaking down corporations for millions and buying themselves mansions to share their support for the Communist regime in #Cuba,” he tweeted.

Rubio shared on the Senate floor that the main reason for Cuba’s economic suffering is its Communist government. He said that fishermen and farmers are not allowed to fish or grow things and sell them to people. Cubans can’t own a small business or do anything else that people can do in countries all over the world.

Sen. Ted Cruz also pointed out that this was the same regime that brutalized and denied the freedom to generations of Cubans, and forced his family (as well as many others) to flee. He emphasized that the American people stand “squarely” with the men and women of Cuba as they continue to fight for liberty. Sen. Tom Cotton added that it’s “no surprise” that the BLM Marxists are defending a murderous communist regime.

Even Acting Director of National Security Ric Grenell said that Politico’s Immigration reporter must’ve failed to fact-check BLM’s incredibly offensive Cuba statement.

BLM went from being an organization that not only supports defunding the police but also supports an oppressive Communist regime. Thousands of Cuban protesters have flooded the streets demanding freedom and democracy that even members of “The Squad” haven’t said much on Cuba’s Communist Regime.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, however, has also blamed the embargoes and said that it’s “long past time” to end the unilateral U.S embargo on Cuba, which has only “hurt” the Cuban people.

Fidel Castro took over the country in a violent siege in 1959 without even having won an election. His successor Fidel and brother Raul have been the nation’s only leaders, as well as current figure President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Protesters have even been filmed yelling slogans like “down with communism” and “fu** Diaz-Canel.” Some were even cloaked in American flags. But BLM refused to mention any of that. They chose to focus on the U.S embargo on Cuba instead and blame our country for the “instigated suffering” in Cuba. The U.S embargo policy does not even prevent the shipment of food, medicine, or any other humanitarian aid, but that doesn’t fit BLM’s narrative.

Cuba currently imports more than $2 billion in agricultural products annually, with $150 million of those sales coming from the U.S. The U.S can change whatever policies they want and trade however they like but at the end of the day, Cuba is still under a communist regime. That means they will always use something as a weapon against the people.
