AOC & Markey Put On Masks For Capitol Hill Photo Op Then Ditch Them Seconds Later

Liberals are well-known for their double standards but it’s rare to catch one happen on camera in the blink of an eye.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was seen at Capitol Hill on Monday morning protesting in favor of extending the federal eviction moratorium. She was seen in a photo-op moment with a team of activists who shouted “housing is a human right.” Right before taking the photo and a minute after, AOC was seen slipping off the mask and dropping her political performance. She only needed it for the photo.

If AOC had been without a mask the entire time, she wouldn’t have been ridiculed. She’s outdoors and fully vaccinated. According to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, she’s in the clear. But Dems only follow a political agenda.

Social media users fired back at the video, adding that they can’t stand the hypocrisy. “The government is easily the worst part about this country in every facet, regardless of party,” one Twitter user wrote.

Libertarian writer Jen Monroe adds that there are no masks or social distancing anywhere except during the photo-op. This is similar to what happened last week when Tiana Lowe from the Washington Examiner photographed Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser maskless at a wedding after imposing more mask mandates in the state. Writer Glenn Kessler at the Washington Post gave Bowser Four Pinocchios for the political “slip-up” and said it is just another embarrassing moment for the governor.

AOC protesting that housing is a “human right” is just another way to steal more of what’s not theirs. People are getting thousands of dollars of unemployment money and the fact that they can’t seem to pay the rent doesn’t add up, along with a nationwide labor shortage. People don’t want to work and AOC wants to vilify landlords who are already drowning in property taxes, insurance, mortgages, etc.

With the narrative AOC has been pushing, it’s a surprise she isn’t wearing a mask 24/7. She heavily criticized the state of Texas back in March for completely lifting their mask mandates, adding that the people are enduring one disaster after another. She claimed that lifting mask mandates are derived from selfishness and a denial of basic science. Weeks after Texas lifted its mask mandates, the state saw a significant drop in hospitalizations and COVID-19 cases. Seems like AOC was the one not following the science.

Sen. Ed Markey, another fellow progressive on the scene, also replicated AOC’s move. He was seen sitting down on the steps before the group photo and putting on his mask. Somebody yelled “everybody says ‘whiskey,”’ while taking the photo. Sen. Markey pulled down his face mask moments later to chuckle at the joke.

The Biden Administration announced a new eviction moratorium through Oct. 3. CDC officials had cited high levels of community COVID-19 transmission and the Delta Variant as reasons.

The emergence of the delta variant has led to a rapid acceleration of community transmission in the United States, putting more Americans at increased risk, especially if they are unvaccinated. This moratorium is the right thing to do to keep people in their homes and out of congregate settings where Covid-19 spreads,” said CDC director Rochelle Walensky.

You have to wonder why the CDC is a part of White House policy decisions on paying rent in the first place. This level of bureaucratic overreach is only the beginning of the Biden Administration and there are hypocrites like AOC to thank for pushing false narratives.
