There have been many different reactions to President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate announcement that would affect federal employees and private businesses.
Some states, like Arizona, have sued the Biden Administration over the policies as an act of federal overreach. New York, on the other hand, has required vaccine mandates for more than 30 different types of businesses including restaurants, gyms, and performance venues. Mayor Bill de Blasio has even announced that students ages 12 and up will be required to be vaccinated against the virus in order to play “high risk” extracurricular sports.
But workplace environments have blown up over the matter, with some New York hospitals announcing that they can no longer deliver babies due to a loss of maternity workers. Many people have quit their jobs over the mandates in their state and said that the Biden Administration has gone “full-blown Stalin” over the pandemic. Nurses have been particularly furious over the mandates, adding that they don’t need to be forced to take an experimental vaccine when they know what disease and viruses look like.
Now, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Biden’s top medical adviser, has said that it may take “many many” more vaccine mandates to get the pandemic under control. Last year, Fauci said you couldn’t “force” anyone to take a vaccine at all. He must be getting paid big bucks to flip the script so quickly.
Fauci shared during an interview at the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) convention that you’ve “got to go to the alternatives” If people are not voluntarily getting the jab.
“I believe that’s going to turn this around because I don’t think people are going to want to not go to work or not go to college …They’re going to do it. You’d like to have them do it on a totally voluntary basis, but if that doesn’t work, you’ve got to go to the alternatives,” Fauci told CNN’s Jen Christensen.
Fauci emphasized how he “respects” people’s freedom but that they’ve been in a public health crisis for well over a year and a half and that “enough is enough.” He said people needed to put aside any concerns about personal liberties in order to fight the “common enemy,” which he said is the virus. He even told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the decision to get vaccinated “isn’t all about you” and that it’s about passing it to someone.
Fauci said we are all a part of society and that we must act to be a part of the solution, instead of propagating the outbreak. He said everyone has some responsibility as a member of society to get vaccinated.
But the number of people vaccinated does not equal herd immunity. It is about the number of people vaccinated along with the number of those who are immune due to having COVID-19. Others have also asked why the vaccinated are so afraid of the unvaccinated if the masks and vaccine are effective. It went from 2 weeks to “flatten the curve” to full-blown tyrannical orders.
It’s been pretty simple from the start. You either take the vaccine or get the virus and let natural immunity take care of the rest. But Democrats never let a crisis go to waste.
