More Wuhan Documents Reveal That Fauci Lied To Congress

There have been more than 900 pages of newly released documents providing details of the US-funded research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The documents detail the work of EcoHealth Alliance at the Chinese lab including Dr. Fauci’s coronavirus gain-of-function research. Sen. Rand Paul was right the entire time for calling out Fauci on his funding of the virus. There have been many heated exchanges over the months between Fauci and Paul, but the documents only prove that Paul has been right the whole time.

One of the first tense exchanges between Fauci and Paul occurred back in May during a Senate Committee hearing on Health, Education, and Labor. Paul pointed out how Fauci’s National Institute of Health had been funding gain-of-function research on coronaviruses through the EcoHealth Alliance group. He then brought it up again in July and accused Fauci of committing perjury through his NIH role.

Paul cited Dr. Fauci’s Wuhan Virology paper titled, “Discovery of a Rich Gene Pool of Bat SARS-Related Coronaviruses,” which credits the NIH for the grant and lists the actual grant number. The paper talks about researchers taking two bat coronavirus genes, spiking them, and then combining them with a SARS-related backbone to create new viruses. Paul then recites the exact definition of gain-of-function research, adding that it fits the exact definition of that research.

Fauci has continued to deny ever lying to Congress and dismissed the definition of gain-of-function research, which he had defined in the paper himself. “You do not know what you are talking about quite frankly and I want to say that officially,” Fauci said. Paul, however, fought back.

“This is your definition that you guys wrote. It says that scientific research that increases the transmissibility among animals is gain-of-function. They took animal viruses that only occur in animals and they increase their transmissibility to humans. How you can say that is not gain-of-function?” Paul asked.

But it seems that Fauci lied to Congress on numerous occasions. With the release of new documents, Sen. Paul said he has already asked the Department of Justice to review Fauci’s testimony and hold him accountable.

The documents reveal that a $3.1 million bat coronavirus grant was given to EcoHealth Alliance for the use of identifying and altering bat coronaviruses likely to infect humans. Out of the $3.1 million, almost $600,000 of that federal money was used by the Wuhan Institute of Virology to find and alter bat coronaviruses that jump to humans and infect them.

Reports suggest that even scientists were concerned about the dangers of these experiments, adding in the grant proposal that this work involves “the highest risk of exposure to SARS or other CoVs” due to working in caves with high bat density and the potential to inhale fecal dust.

Broad Institute molecular biologist Alina Chan found it impossible to rule out a research-related incident when they pointed out in the grant just how risky this work is. She said the report kept talking about people potentially getting bitten and asked if EcoHealth had access to any of those records.

Rutgers University chemical biology professor Richard Ebright pointed out how the assertions by NIH Director Francis Collins and NIAID Director Anthony Fauci were “untruthful” as made clear by the documents.

The more documents that come out, the more we know that Fauci flat out lied to Congress (and the rest of the world). He followed the money and politics however it benefitted him best. Where is the outrage from the Democrat Party and mainstream media?
