Former President Donald Trump recently made a surprise visit to see the New York City police and firemen while commemorating the 20th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attack. Officers lined up at the station house to greet the former president, where they posed and he signed autographs. Trump left the NYPD’s 17th Precinct to cheers and applause, with one person screaming, “Thank you for keeping us safe.” Trump told the crowd that he has been given so much support by the people who do what they do and that they “love the blue.”
“We love the blue. I’ll say it loud. You know, you’re not supposed to say that. We love the blue,” Trump told the crowd.
Trump’s surprise visit was after he criticized President Joe Biden for the rushed US pullout from Afghanistan. He told Fox News that there has “never been a greater embarrassment” to the United States and that the U.S has never had a more incompetent person as its leader.
Trump reflected on Sept. 11, 2001, as one of the terrible days in our history, but also pointed to it being a terrible week in our history recently. He talked about his deal with the Taliban as president for a May 2021 troop withdrawal, adding that the disastrous efforts under the Biden Administration would’ve never happened under him.
“To have that embarrassment to take place in Afghanistan with the same people who did the damage 20 years ago — it is the greatest embarrassment in the history of our country. There has never been anything like this. It looks like we fled, and it is all because we have an incompetent person as the leader of our country,” Trump said.
Trump went on to say that they hadn’t lost a single soldier or American in 19 months in Afghanistan and that things were going along “very well.” He said that when the Biden Administration began drawing back forces that they created a “big open, wound, a void” that the Taliban came in and just filled. He said that the Taliban controlled the whole country within 24 hours and that Biden made the “inconceivable move” to take out the military. He said they should’ve taken the military out last after all of the American citizens and Afghan allies made it out.
Trump emphasized how this should’ve never happened in the first place and that it would be more politically correct to tell the Gold Star families in veterans to “hang in there” and that “something will happen.” He said the Biden Administration cannot possibly feel good or optimistic about any of the work that they are doing when they have left thousands behind. The State Department is currently working on a plan to evacuate the remaining 100 individuals and Afghan allies.
While the White House described Taliban officials as being “cooperative” and “businesslike,” Trump has continued to blast government officials for trying to work with the terrorist organization. He said the Biden Administration administration looks like fools trying to talk with the people that knocked down the World Trade Center and treated people so inhumanely. “I mean, we have been fighting them for 25 years, and to think that they’re now reliable?” Trump asked.
Trump said that the country will have to move forward, as they have been completely disrespected all over the world. He said that Biden rushed his plans to try and claim victory on the withdrawal by 9/11, but only now looks like a fool.
Biden has scrapped every policy and plan for pulling the troops out of Afghanistan and is now blaming Trump for the disaster. Democrats continue to try and blame things on the “stain of the Trump presidency” instead of owning their responsibilities. He was given a plan and botched it up. It’s the same game.
