Many political officials, including the former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott, have been vocal about President Joe Biden’s out-of-control border crisis in the recent months. But the worst part hasn’t been the border itself. It has been the Biden administration’s decision to withhold information from the American public and downplay the crisis with policies that keep the border wide open. If the Biden administration is hiding information from citizens, then the people can’t make informed decisions. That is the real “misinformation.”
Many sources note that the border situation had been improving for years but recently shut down due to Biden’s policies. He has continued to block the construction of the border wall with millions of taxpayers dollars, assigned a border czar who refuses to acknowledge the physical border itself, and a handful of policies that only cancel more border wall projects in Texas.
The Department of Homeland Security also announced its plans to cancel the remaining border wall projects in South Texas. They put the plans on pause back in January and have been trying to decide whether or not they wanted to allow some to continue. The administration “promised” that they would not construct any new border barrier systems or execute any land acquisition related to these projects.
The Biden Administration said they would fund “smarter border security measures” and cancel all the remaining Trump-era border projects. Until Congress cancels the funding, the administration has been using the project funds to pay for the materials to sit on the work sites. It was even revealed by Scott that Biden uses almost $5 million a day between the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security to not build the border wall. He said there are stacks of border wall panels, hundreds of fiber optic cabling, and tons of cameras that were installed and are just sitting there with no action being taken, adding that the border is wide open right now.
“We’re not building more walls. There’s no conversation. There’s no adult dialogue if you will. It’s just a black-and-white decision. The administration said we’re not doing it. So we’re not doing it. That money is just trickling away to those contractors for not doing work each day,” Scott adds.
The report reveals how the Biden Administration has spent nearly $2 billion of the $10 billion on suspension and termination costs related to the project. The report was released in June 2021, adding that it is a waste of taxpayer resources that threatens “military readiness and national security.”
Many people have questioned and criticized the Biden Administration over their decision to cancel border wall projects in the midst of a surging number of illegal immigrant crossings. It seems like just another cost to the taxpayer as the current administration has no intention of completing the projects.
Vice President and manager of the migrant crisis, Vice President Kamala Harris, is nowhere to be seen when high-ranking officials gathered in Mexico City to talk about the border. The meeting included Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. VP Harris, however, was at a daycare center in New Jersey while touting Biden’s Build Back Better plan.
If VP Harris is seen at the border, then she’s expected to make a significant impact and deliver the results that the Biden Administration promised. But we all know she’d just laugh and talk about the “root issues.” The Biden Administration had no plans with the border other than to open it.
