There are a few constants in life that every American can count on and President Joe Biden’s bizarre and embarrassing gaffes are one of them. He recently did so yet again when he tried to tell a story about people pulling up to McDonald’s during a speech in New Jersey.
President Biden was speaking about internet infrastructure issues, adding how they are going to make sure high-speed Internet is “affordable” and “available everywhere in America.” He went on to say this includes the nearly 1/3 New Jersey families that don’t have internet. But when the president tried to give an example of the internet problem, he appeared to get lost talking about people being forced to “pull up to their local McDonald’s to do their homework.”
What Biden was talking about was how some Americans are forced to use free WiFi at fast-food chains. But as President Biden trailed through the analogy, he began to look incredibly confused.
“How many times do you see people pulling up to McDonald’s sitting outside during the pandemic so they could do their homework because they couldn’t get — get it off of their — their line?” Biden said.
Biden became stuck for a moment and then got quiet before continuing his speech. He even tried to make the same point during a speech in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
“How many people did you see out in McDonald’s parking lots with their kids in their cars — because they get access to the internet — to be able to help the kid in school? What are we doing? This is the United States of America, dammit. What are we doing?” President Biden asked.
Gaffes and blunders are part of Biden’s norm when it comes to his speeches, but their increased frequency has become a cause of concern. He even held an overly rehearsed and controlled Town Hall event on CNN with host, Anderson Cooper.
On many topics, the answers provided by President Biden were incoherent and just wrong. when comes to providing solutions and leadership for the country. When asked about vaccine mandates, Biden mocked Americans as having the “freedom” to kill you with my Covid for choosing not to get the jab.
He did not acknowledge the medical or religious reasons not to be vaccinated and, instead, accused the unvaccinated of killing people with your Covid. He also forgot to mention the thousands of breakthrough cases among the vaccinated population.
When talking about the border crisis, Biden simply said he has been to the border before. He went on to say that Vice President Harris is taking care of it and that she has also been to the border before, just not the one between the United States and Mexico.
Biden went on to discuss how he has met with Walmart, and other retailers, but has offered little hope to solving the supply chain problems or getting the country stocked by the holiday season. There also seems to be very little effort made by the Biden administration on solving this complex crisis. The Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg has proved to be a joke on the crisis and has offered no solutions, only a paternity leave.
Biden has gone on to admit he has no short-term answer for the spiking gas prices and even suggested that Americans would not start seeing relief until mid-2022.
“My guess is, you’ll start to see gas prices come down as we get by and going into the winter – I mean, excuse me, into next year, 2022. I don’t see anything that’s going to happen in the meantime that’s going to significantly reduce gas prices. I must tell you, I don’t have a near-term answer,” President Biden said.
This is a politician who has been in Washington for over forty years and can’t give any answers on vaccinations, the supply chain crisis, and everything else he has promised his voters. If it’s not a gaffe, it’s a shrug.
