Department Of Justice In Hot Water Over Threats Against School Parents

In one of the most radically left moves yet, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland recently shared that he would instruct the Federal Bureau of Investigation and its resources to stand up to parents who oppose Critical Race Theory and COVID-19 mandates. They have even labeled parents who question the liberal school boards as “domestic threats” and accused them of threatening public servants. The Biden Administration is looking to suppress the First Amendment by classifying everything as ‘domestic terrorism’ or ‘misinformation.’

Garland wrote a letter to the National School Board Association, requesting that they classify these parents as ‘domestic terrorism’ and that they run counter to the nation’s core values. He went on to claim that teachers should be able to do their work without fear for their safety and that children should be ensured a proper education. He didn’t note any credible threats in his letter and only cited an increase in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence against school board members, teachers, and workers.

In the next 30 days, the FBI and U.S Attorneys’ Offices will meet with federal, state, Tribal, territorial, and local law enforcement leaders to discuss strategies for addressing “this disturbing trend,” with Garland adding that the sessions will open the lines of communication. He said they will be able to accurately report threats, assessments, and responses by law enforcement, as well as assembling a DOJ-led task force to determine how to prosecute the crimes. You’d think that federal agencies would prioritize this much time and dedication to tackle some of the city’s biggest crime problems instead of attacking and targeting parents at school board meetings.

The Justice Department also announced that they will create training and guidance for school boards and their administrators for understanding the type of behavior that constitutes threats, how to report it, and how to capture and conduct in the investigation of it. While many have been concerned over the mingling of curriculum choice and federal agencies, it was recently revealed that Garland’s son-in-law, Xan Tanner, is one of the cofounders of Panorama Education. Panorama Education is a company that helps promote the foundation and founding principles of Critical Race Theory.

But many elected officials are demanding the Department of Justice to provide the data behind their claims that parents are a “threat” to local school officials. Rep. Lauren Boebert, a House Freedom Caucus member, recently requested a copy of the current data and all of the previous years that can “corroborate” Garland’s increased claims of threats.

“I am alarmed by your decision to weaponize the Department of Justice (DOJ) against concerned parents, exercising their First Amendment rights, who dare to oppose the teaching of critical race theory, a repulsive and racist ideology, in their children’s schools,” Boebert wrote to Garland.

Boebert asked what sort of “criminal activity” Garland is referring to when, in reality, parents are just expressing their frustrations to the mask mandates and curriculum that runs counter to the American agenda. She also points to Garland’s family connection to Critical Race Theory, adding how he is “personally benefiting” from the kind of propaganda that parents are protesting. She called his actions “unconstitutional” and a clear conflict of interest.

“The United States Attorney General is weaponizing the DOJ to attack American parents who disagree with Critical Race Theory. Surprise surprise, his son-in-law is in the business of spreading CRT. This is wrong. This is corrupt. I’m demanding answers,” Boebert adds.

Rep. Greg Murphy has also pushed back against the Department of Justice and their “deeply disturbing” and transparent threats against parents concerned about their children’s education. He pointed to the responsibilities of combating criminal behavior and defending our constitutional rights, not attempting to silence conversation among parents in school board meetings. If the federal agencies didn’t prove how deeply corrupt and liberal they were before, they just did.
