Ron DeSantis Lashes Out At Biden Over Vaccine Mandate

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has continued to criticize President Joe Biden’s federal vaccine mandate, which is essentially forcing workers out of their jobs and threatening to withhold Medicare funding for companies that go against the mandate. President Biden recently delivered a speech to mandate coronavirus vaccines or testing requirements, even though DeSantis previously signed legislature against the use of vaccine passports.

DeSantis shared at a recent press conference in Naples, Florida, that no one should lose their jobs over the shots and that he will continue to protect people’s jobs and the many healthcare workers and first responders being exposed to the virus. The Florida Department of Health even fined Leon County $3.5 million after they fired over a dozen employees regarding a vaccine mandate.

DeSantis called out President Biden for claiming healthcare workers were “heroes” last year only to turn around and force a mandate on them. He said the people who have been working throughout the entire pandemic and exposing themselves the whole time have strong protection against the virus through natural immunity.

DeSantis implied that the mandates will only “further” problems in the healthcare industry due to people who decide to walk away. He adds how they are already short-staffed as is and that it is just plain “unconstitutional” what the government is trying to implement. “I don’t think they have the authority to just issue these dictates and threaten to pull off – who knows how much funds that would end up being,” he said in response to Medicare being pulled.

DeSantis went on to say that they are looking at options to fight back against the president and his divisive tactics, adding that he is taking people’s jobs over the issue. He accused Biden of plunging people into “destitution” and taking away their livelihood over the mandates.

“To say to a police officer who’s been working this whole time or a nurse or a firefighter that now they lose their job … those guys had to answer the call. And now you’re going to toss them aside? He is the one that is being divisive on this. We believe people should be able to make their own decisions,” Desantis adds.

He told Biden that they needed to work on multiple treatment plans and options, adding that there is not a “one-size-fits-all” strategy for the nation. He pointed out the success of their monoclonal antibody program, adding that their infection rates are some of the lowest in the country. He said it is “fundamentally wrong” to force workers to get vaccinated after working hard throughout the entire pandemic and that they have legal options on the table to fight back against the Biden Administration.

DeSantis said he will continue to protect those against government officials who infringe on Florida law, infringing on current and former employees’ medical privacy, and those who fire loyal public servants over their own personal health decisions. Crooked politicians continue to act without repercussions, but DeSantis is backing back America with great force.
