While President Joe Biden beat former President Donald Trump in the 2020 elections, he can’t help but think of Trump as he struggles to get through the first months. The president even joked about his alleged identity of him “if that’s Trump” after the ringtone of a reporter’s cell phone went off while he was answering questions at a press conference.
Biden mentioned the moment as one of many things he did to the former president in his bid to reclaim the political spotlight from his predecessor.
Biden, after meeting with world leaders on the Iran nuclear threat even pointed out to reporters that Trump was responsible for pulling out the Iran nuclear agreement negotiated by former Secretary John Kerry under former President Barack Obama.
Biden states how they continue to suffer from the very poor judgments that President Trump made by pulling out of JCPO, adding that he would also apologize to Trump for withdrawing the U.S out of the Paris Climate Accords.
Biden said he doesn’t think he should apologize, but that he does regret that they pulled out of the Paris agreement. He went on to say that it put them a bit behind the eight ball.
Trump was also on Biden’s mind prior to his trip abroad, as he tried to connect him to the GOP candidate for governor of Virginia. He mentioned the former president 24 times in his speech, including a response to protesters interrupting his speech.
Biden stated to his supporters how this isn’t a Trump rally, adding how they should let the protesters holler. Biden also made a reference to Trump in his speech to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial, Washington, DC. He specifically mentioned the election, telling the GOP voters that Trump is not their President. Biden has been focused on Trump since the 20th anniversary of 9/11, adding that he was willing and able to box Trump because he would “go down very quickly.”
President Biden even referred to signs that were flown by Trump supporters in Pennsylvania and read “F*ck Joe Biden” after taking photo-ops with children. He asked what the people who have died must be thinking, adding that it doesn’t make sense to ride down the road where someone has a sign saying “F so and so.” He says it’s not who we are as a country and makes no sense to be involved in such a thing. Yet Biden is the one who keeps bringing everything up.
