While Americans are required to submit a negative coronavirus screening when returning to the United States, illegal border-crossers are not subject to the same requirements, the Biden administration. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis recently criticized President Biden’s inconsistent coronavirus mandates spreading across the country.
DeSantis states that what President Biden is doing by trying to impose additional restrictions, he’s now going say that if you travel to the Bahamas as an American citizen, and you return, you have to take a test, a COVID. DeSantis stated that if someone comes across the border illegally, it’s okay and that we don’t care about the vaccination or test, he just doesn’t care.
Biden made a significant change to the international travel rules and now requires travelers to submit a negative coronavirus screening within one day of their departure, rather than three days, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated.
Biden’s chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci dismissed this week border crossers as “a different problem” than international travelers. Fauci claimed that there was coronavirus testing at the border, even though Biden has not mandated universal testing or mandatory vaccinations for border crossers.
The Biden administration has been trying for months to explain the reasons they have not implemented the same policies to deal with border crossers, illegal immigrants, and migrants who enter the United States legally as citizens, legal residents, and tourists since taking control of the border.
DeSantis stated that the inconsistent rules will cause “a lot” of problems and said that he doesn’t agree with Biden expanding existing mandates. He said he doesn’t believe they should be imposing any mandates upon air travel or any other things that they have already done. Biden announced that his administration would extend the mandate for mask travel through the winter, noting that this was the second time he had done so.
DeSantis said it hasn’t made much difference and has caused inconvenience for many people. DeSantis said that he believes it has impeded people’s ability to travel. The Florida governor said that he was happy for Americans and had received some relief from a court ruling against Biden’s mandate, which threatened to force healthcare workers to lose their jobs.
DeSantis claimed that the Florida legislature had created vaccine protections for workers in the special session. However, the federal government threatened to withhold all Medicare and Medicaid funding from these providers. That would have been devastating. He added that this means that thousands of jobs will be preserved.
