Harris Fires Back At Democrats, Claims She’s Being Set Up To Fail

Kamala Harris, Vice President of the United States, stated Sunday that she doesn’t believe she is being “set-up to fail” amid accusations from fellow Democrats that President Biden has given her an unwieldy portfolio. Harris was asked by Democrats to respond to criticisms that the vice president has been given a portfolio to work against her during a prerecorded interview on CBS’s Margaret Brennan’s “Face the Nation.”

Harris retorted, “No, I don’t believe I’m being set up for failure.” She continued, “I’m Vice President of United States.” “Anything I handle is because it’s a difficult issue, and it could not be handled at any other level. There are many big, difficult issues that must be addressed. It has been a part of my career for many years to address these issues.

Harris declined to comment on whether the scrutiny was because she is Black. Brennan was told by her, “I’ll let that be dealt with by others.” “I have a job, and I’m going get it done.”

Harris’s defenders have criticized Biden for placing her in charge of seemingly unwinnable topics like the border crisis. Former Rep. Bakari Sellers, a CNN commentator, said that Harris’s portfolio was trash. It is impossible to give someone a portfolio that isn’t meant for them to succeed.

Harris’s recent staff turnover has also fueled reports about a toxic work environment, which have plagued Harris since her election. Harris was the former vice president of staff. A former employee said Harris is a bully who subjected her employees to “a constant stream of soul-destroying criticism.”

Politico was told by a person who has direct knowledge of Harris’ office’s running in June that “people are thrown under a bus from the very top. There are short fuses and it’s abusive.” It’s not a healthy environment, and people are often mistreated. It is not a place that people feel supported, but it is a place people feel like s —.”.

Ashley Etienne, Harris’ communications director, and Symone Sanders’ senior advisor, both announced their resignations. Politico reported that Harris’s office is “eyeing the exits” and other top-ranking staff members are also leaving.

The White House is downplaying the departures. Jen Psaki, White House press secretary, stated that it was “natural” for staff to be ready to “move forward.”
