Biden Surgeon General Vivek Murthy Calls On Big Tech To Censor Joe Rogan

Silicon Valley tech companies have an important role to play in preventing the spread of coronavirus misinformation. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy made these comments while appearing on MSNBC. Mika Brzezinski, the host of MSNBC, asked Murthy about the alleged misinformation that Joe Rogan and other social media posts might have caused.

Murthy said that accurate information won’t be of any benefit to people.

Biden appointed a health official who urged private companies to exercise their authority to stop misinformation from spreading.

Murthy stated that it is about individuals and companies recognizing the fact that misinformation can only be overcome if we are careful with what we say and limit its spread.

Joe Rogan is undoubtedly the most beloved pundit in western culture, with an average of 11,000,000 listeners per episode. His audience is twice as large as Tucker Carlson, Fox News’ most popular cable host — whom the left tried to censor.

Adweek reports that CNN received just over one million viewers per hour in the primetime slot in 2021. This is a fraction of Rogan’s audience. MSNBC had 1.53 million viewers, which is also far less than the popular podcaster.

Recently, Neil Young, a 1960s-era musician and leftist demanded that Spotify blacklist Joe Rogan’s podcast. Or Young’s music would be removed. Spotify backed the most-listened-to podcaster in the globe but removed Young’s music instead.

Spotify stated, however, that it has “detailed contents policies in place” and that they have removed more than 20,000 podcast episodes about COVID since the outbreak.
