Cliff Sims, a former senior advisor to the director for national intelligence in Trump’s administration, attacked Dan Crenshaw, an established Republican, over the weekend. He accused him of being double-dealing on the Iran deal.
Crenshaw said via social media that “While everyone else is distracted Biden will be walking us into another disastrous Iran nuclear agreement.”
Sims pointed out that while the establishment Republican wouldn’t praise Donald Trump, or admit that he pulled out of the “disastrous deal” during his speech to the Republican National Convention (RNC), Sims said otherwise.
Mediaite reported last year that Crenshaw’s office and he fought attempts by the Trump White House for him to praise Trump during his 2020 Republican National Convention speech. He even offered to walk out if anyone tried to alter his address.
Sims attempted to edit his speech to correct the fact that he did not mention Trump or President in his speech. Justin Discigil (the communications director of the congressman) defended Sims’ original speech.
Sims said that Sims was crazy to believe his guy would speak at the president’s convention without mentioning him, and no one will notice.
Mediaite reported that the congressman gave the nod to the president over the military but was removed from his prime-time slot. Sims allegedly tried to confront Sims’s communications director about Trump’s absence of mentions.
