Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis reacted to Joe Biden’s remarks Thursday at an “Ingraham Angle” town hall event. This was after Biden suggested that politicians were “burning books” in order to “score political points.”
Biden stated Wednesday that too many politicians are trying to score political points by trying to ban books, even math books, during Wednesday’s annual National and State Teachers of the Year ceremony.
The Florida Department of Education had decided to ban 41% of math textbooks from public schools. They claimed that they included critical race theory, and “social-emotional” learning. After the publishers removed the banned content, nine of the books were republished.
“Didn’t you think that when you were teaching, you would be worried about book burnings and banning literature because it doesn’t fit someone’s political agenda?” Biden also added that at the time.
DeSantis answered Laura Ingraham’s question from Orlando on Thursday about the “pot shot” by Biden. He said that Florida has a strict education policy.
DeSantis stated, “We want education, but we don’t want indoctrination,” before being cut off by the long round of applause.

DeSantis stated that his administration believes that parents play a fundamental role in raising their children. Biden and his administration, on the other hand, believe that parents should “butt-out” to allow schools to indoctrinate what they believe your child should know or believe.
DeSantis said, “This is an enormous debate in our country — it’s tragic that it is,”
“Why would you want parents involved?” They don’t want parents to be involved, as they fear that it will hinder their ability to indoctrinate them the way they want.
