Texas rancher and businessman Elon Musk is looking to lure new Twitter owner to Texas by offering free land to Musk to build a new headquarters.
“Elon Musk, Move Twitter To Schwertner, TX. On Tuesday, Jim Schwertner, CEO and President, Capitol Land & Livestock said that he is 38 miles north of Austin in Williamson County and would give him 100 acres for free.
Schwertner’s offer attracted attention from local media outlets. But the rancher who has been around for decades said that his sole goal is to help his community.
Fox Business’s Schwertner said Thursday that he was serious about the offer, noting that the land offered is worth millions of Dollars.
Schwertner noted that Musk would love the location of this property, as Musk has expanded the reach of Tesla in central Texas. Schwertner’s metro area is “growing rapidly”, and there are plans to add 450,000 people by 2050.
Schwertner said that Austin, unlike California, where Twitter’s current headquarters is located, offers “affordable housing” and other places to call home.
Schwertner stated that the land Twitter could use for its expansion is primarily ranching and farmland. However, he pointed out that it is easily accessible to I-35 and has “good infrastructure.”
Schwertner stated that the area could be a “new frontier” for Elon, while boasting that it is “very conservative” with “a lot of smart people and good labor.”
The Texas businessman isn’t the only one trying to lure Musk to Florida, as Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry calls on Musk to visit Florida.
Musk recently signed a deal with Twitter for a massive $44 billion acquisition of Tesla. He moved Tesla’s headquarters to Texas last year due to the high cost of living in California.
Musk stated that it was difficult for people to afford homes and that many people must come from far away. “We’ve gone as far as we can, but there’s a limit on how large you can make it in the Bay Area.
Musk also made the personal move from California to Texas, and became a resident in Austin in 2020.
