Biden Torched For Reminiscing About The Old Days Of Having Lunch With Real Segregationists

When President Biden recalled his time in Ohio as a senator and how he shared meals with “real segregationists”, it raised eyebrows.

”You know, things are changing since I was first elected to the United States Senate. I was 29 years old when I was elected to the United States Senate. I came from a modest background. Biden stated Friday that he was there for 36 year before becoming vice president. We used to fight like hell back when we had segregationists like Eastland or Thurmond. But we ended up having lunch together. The times have changed. It is time to get it back.”

Portman was told by the president that he was sorry for the senator’s departure from the Senate. Portman was so upset because he is “one of our good guys” due to the way he treats his peers.

Critics lambasted Biden’s boasting of his past ties to pro-segregation legislators.

National Review senior writer Dan McLaughlin joked that segregationists were notoriously chill about who could eat lunch together.

Dave Rubin, a political commentator, tweeted “Nothing like hot lunch with a Segregationist…

“Of course, you shared lunch. Becket Adams, National Journalism Center program director, pointed out that you were allowed to sit at their counter.

“Brunch with Bigots! Am I right?” Ellen Carmichael, president of Lafayette Co. exclaimed.

“For one, Biden admitted to casually sharing meals at restaurants with’real’ segregationists; second, he seems to have implied that he admits that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about when he uses words like ‘Jim Crow 2.0’,” Pluribus editor Jeryl Bier wrote.

“Joe Biden be as extreme as ultra MAGA and I just long to the days when I could have lunch with segregationists,” Abigail Marone (press secretary for Sen. Josh Hawley), R-Mo., said.

Kamala Harris, Biden’s vice president, famously attacked him because he sang the praises of his former segregationist Senate colleagues during a heated exchange during the 2019 Democratic primary debate.

These remarks are similar to those he made on Thursday during the Cinco de Mayo celebration at The White House. He began his remarks with a story about the “prejudice” he had toward the Irish people.

He also got on a bizarre tangent about Spanish-speaking students at American schools.

These remarks were made as Politico reported that White House staff had largely avoided press events at the Oval Office due to its lack of a permanent equipped teleprompter.
