Multiple child sex offenders, gang leaders, and other illegal aliens were arrested by Border Patrol agents after illegally crossing from Mexico to the U.S. Many are now facing felony charges for illegal entry after being removed.
According to Border Patrol officials, Rio Grande Valley Sector agents detained five criminal aliens as well as four gang members in a five-day period that ended on July 11. Brownsville Station agents detained Jorge Adolfo Diaz Perez, a Mexican national who had crossed the border to Brownsville, Texas on July 6.

Agents did a background check and discovered a criminal record that included a 2012 Cameron County, Texas conviction for indecency in a child with a six-year-old by contact. Agents arrested Diaz Perez in Cameron County, Texas. The court sentenced Diaz-Perez to 10-year probation.
Brownsville Station agents arrested another Mexican national the next day and found a 2005 Texas conviction for sexual assault with children. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Kingsville Station agents later that day arrested a Honduran national. They also discovered a Maryland conviction for child abuse from 2013. The sentence was a 15-year term.
McAllen Station agents detained another Honduran national on July 8. A records search revealed that the Honduran national had been convicted by a Georgia court of statutory rape. The Honduran migrant was sentenced to a year in prison and deported from the U.S.
Fort Brown agents arrested a Mexican immigrant who was convicted in 2015 of alien smuggling and sentenced to death. The court sentenced the human trafficker to six and eight years respectively.
RGV agents also detained three members of the MS-13 gang, a Tango Blast member, and one other convicted sex offender.
According to Chief Patrol Agent John R. Modlin’s tweet, Vicente Tapia Solano, a Mexican national was arrested by Douglas Station agents in Tucson Sector.
A convicted felon was arrested east of Douglas, AZ, by Tucson Sector agents.

Yuma Sector Chief Patrol Agent Chris T. Clem reported Miguel Garcia Lopez’s arrest. He was a Mexican national aged 45 who illegally entered the U.S. on July 11. A records search revealed that he was convicted in Florida of Manslaughter/DUI in 1998. Before being released, he spent nearly 12 years in prison.
