Most Democrats Believe The Constitution Is Racist And Sexist

Rasmussen Reports’ Wednesday survey found that most Democrats believe the U.S. Constitution to be fundamentally racist and sexist.

Overall, 82% of likely voters hold at least a “somewhat favorable” view of the Constitution, while only 14% do not.

Although the majority of Republicans, Democrats and independents regard the Constitution favorably, the majority of Democrats believe that the founding document is rooted within racism at 57 percent. The Constitution is not rooted in racism according to most Republicans (84%) and Independents (60%)

Respondents were also asked whether they believed the Constitution was “sexist” and gave men more advantages than women. The majority, 56 percent, agreed with this statement as did 77% of Republicans and 59% of independents. However, 64% of Democrats believe the Constitution is sexist and gives women advantages. 32 percent of those surveyed “strongly agree” with this assertion. Plus, 49% of Democrats think the Constitution should “mostly” or “completely rewritten. This compares to only 47 percent who disagree.

– President Joe Biden is supported by most of his strongest supporters. Only 10% of voters who strongly approve of Biden’s job performance as President agree that the Constitution should rewritten. 81% disagree.

This survey was conducted among 1,025 likely voters on July 6th, 2022. It has a +/– 3 percent margin of error.

This decision comes just weeks after Roe v. Wade was overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in a 5-3-1 ruling. The court ruled that the U.S. Constitution doesn’t give women the “right to an abortion”.
