Californians Told Not to Charge Electric Vehicles Days After State Banned Gas-Powered Sales by 2035

California ISO warns about excessive heat which could damage the energy grid and cause blackouts. According to the Flex Alert:

“During a Flex Alert, consumers are asked to reduce energy consumption between 4-9 pm. This is when the system is most stressed. Because there is less renewable energy available and high demand for electricity, this is why it is important to reduce your energy consumption. ”

“Lowering electricity consumption at this time will reduce strain on the system and prevent drastic measures like rotating power outages. ”

This alert was issued because many California cities are experiencing temperatures exceeding 100 degrees.

Eric Garcetti was the Mayor of Los Angeles who fell. He tweeted this:

It’s almost 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Reduce the amount of light coming from your home and turn off any major appliances.

It is now 3:00 p.m. Turn off all major appliances and reduce the thermostat to 78° (or fan), dim excessive lighting, and unplug appliances, not in use.

Gavin Newsom, a leader in California, thought it wise to ban gasoline-powered cars by 2035. They also know that California is susceptible to blackouts.

Tucker Carlson was a Fox News host and said the following Tuesday during his monologue:

“People who control the grid can control electric vehicles. California’s energy regulator can shut off power so you won’t have electricity to travel. The environment is being threatened by carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels.”

Even owners of electric vehicles have gas-powered vehicles in case of blackouts. California’s leaders are not trusted by residents because they have a track record of dealing with crises.

I reported that the ban on gas-powered vehicles is likely to be illegal and unrealistic. Mandy Gunasekara said:

This could be considered a violation of the Commerce Clause as it places unreasonable burdens upon interstate trade. This decision has been upheld by the Supreme Court for many decades. California must also obtain a waiver from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in order to set its own stricter emission standards.

She explained the reasons why this is impossible, and how it would have no significant impact on our environment.

The government should not tell residents what they can and cannot drive. This proposal is not only unlikely to become law, but it is also unrealistic.

Although some people might not be worried because they don’t live in California, the problem is rapidly spreading to other states. California’s ban on gas-powered vehicles could be followed by many other states.
