Did Madonna Just Come Out as Gay?

Do you remember when Madonna was so popular in the 80s/90s? Although I didn’t care for her much, she was a cultural icon. She’s now more of a failure who is always trying to make herself relevant. She was able to kiss Britney Spears as well as Christina Aguilera at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. Although you didn’t see it, it is likely that you have heard about it. Madonna was clearly past the point of her career and needed publicity stunts to maintain her image as her audience shifted to younger, more talented artists.

It seems that Madonna has not forgotten her old tricks. She uploaded a TikTok video on Sunday that seems to indicate she is coming out as gay.

Madonna, who is clearly horrified, stands in her bathroom holding a pair of bright pink underwear. The text overlay says, “If you miss, I’m gay!” She then throws the panties around the room. She then cuts to a trash basket and the camera shows she missed it.

The platform’s users quickly concluded that Madonna had just revealed her homosexuality. It wouldn’t surprise me if she suddenly decided that she was gay. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if she made an ambiguous video to gain some publicity.

It worked, and boy did it! Quick searches on news sites reveal many outlets that report on the video and speculate on its meaning.

Naturally, today’s woke people were enjoying it.

Let me clarify that I couldn’t care less about Madonna and her sexuality. This is Madonna’s attempt to capitalize on the popularity of being LGBT. Evidently, her long-standing stance as an ally wasn’t cutting it anymore. The woke crowd knows that being a cis-gendered friend is no longer enough. You’re not LGBT if you don’t identify as such. Madonna will soon announce new preferred pronouns.

Many celebrities have come out as transgender and/or announced new pronouns. Each time, they get tons of publicity. Wikipedia statistics show that Madonna’s 20 studio albums haven’t sold as many copies cumulatively as her 1986 album True Blue. Her 2019 album Madame X, which was her last studio album, hasn’t sold a million copies. Madonna is currently enjoying some publicity. She recently released a compilation album of remixes and plans to go on tour in 2023.
