Rep. Liz Cheney (Wyoming’s Republican Party pariah) lost her primary earlier this year. She has now endorsed Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin from Michigan.
According to a Slotkin campaign press release, Cheney will be participating in an event in Michigan on November 1 with Slotkin.
“I’m proud to endorse Elissa Slotkin,” Cheney stated that she and Elissa had worked together on the Armed Services Committee. All 7th District voters – Republicans, Democrats, and Independents – should vote for her.
Cheney is a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump. She was later fired as the House Republican Conference chair.
This congresswoman is among two GOP lawmakers that are part of the House Select Committee, which investigated the January 6 episode.
Trump-backed candidate Harriet Hageman beat Cheney in a primary earlier in the year. Cheney, who has served in Congress since 2017, will be retiring from Congress at the end of her current term.
Slotkin stated that “Rep. Cheney’s leadership has been remarkable over these past two years.”
