A video was posted from Jackson, Mississippi of a stray dog carrying a severed arm. Police then found fragments of a body that had been decapitated for three days.
Police responded to Saturday’s report that a dog was carrying a part of a human body and searched the area for any other parts.
The video, which showed what appeared to have been a German shepherd, was shared on social media.
Investigators claimed that they discovered human remains in the wooded area of a house on Sunday. On Monday, more remains were found in the backyard of another abandoned home. Police said Tuesday that they have not yet located the head of the body.
Jackson Police Dept. stated that they are still investigating and searching for remains. WAPT-TV Commander Abraham Thompson
Thompson was asked about the strange nature of the incident.
He replied, “Well, I would suggest, that the individual responsible for it. We most certainly want to find his or her head, we want to learn what they were thinking.”
Later, the Hinds County coroner identified the victim as Scott Allen Tyler (54 years old), a white male. Police stated that an ongoing investigation into the murder is underway.
Jackson Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba responded to the investigation at Monday’s media briefing.
“This is a very graphic, and even brutal image. Lumumba stated that my reaction to the mutilation of the human body is one of disgust and concern. It’s not something that you get used to, and it’s not something that you want to become accustomed to.”
WAPT reported that Tyler’s death was the 117th Jackson murder so far in 2022. It has approximately 150,000 inhabitants.
