Indiana Poll Worker Caught Pushing Voters to Support Democratic Candidates

These stories are a reminder that there are people who will be watching over people at the polls tomorrow. A Democratic poll worker in Indiana was fired after he tried to persuade voters not to vote for certain candidates.

The incidents occurred at a Carmel, Indiana polling location under Hamilton County Election Office. Beth Sheller, Hamilton County election administrator, declined to identify the poll worker in an interview with Fox News Digital. However, she detailed the report from the inspector at that polling place.

Sheller said that an inspector had been informed of two incidents that could be considered electioneering or election interference. Sheller stated that Zheng is being investigated by Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday evening, a group made up of education activists stood outside the polling station. Sheller said that the worker had told two black voters to not vote for pro-parent candidates. Sheller also explained that the activists were racist.

Black voters cast their ballots, then approached activists to discuss what the poll worker said about them as racists. The incident was reported to the workers.

Sheller stated that a poll worker helped a voter to cast an electronic vote and pressed the “straight Democrat” button while explaining how it works. A confused voter asked another worker how to change the selections. The polling inspector was also informed.

These are just two instances that were made public. One might wonder how many times Zheng tried to influence voters at the polls. Sheller assured that the “two incidents” were not isolated, as people would have reported other incidents to poll workers.

This is impossible to prove. What a number of people did Zheng attempt to persuade but it didn’t get brought up by election workers? Further, how many people are participating in this behavior at the polls?

The individual was caught just last week. This means that he could have been electioneering throughout the entire early voting period. It’s not unreasonable to think that this could be happening on a larger scale, given the high stakes in these midterm elections.
