After the publication of this article, Trump’s Campaign provided Breitbart News this statement from Trump: “Kanye wanted to visit Mar-a-Lago very much.” Kanye and I were supposed to have dinner together, but Kanye arrived with an unknown guest.
Kanye West shared screenshots of text messages and a clip after his Tuesday dinner at Mar-a-Lago. These images suggest that, in addition to eating with Trump this week’s rapper, he also met with Nick Fuentes, an openly white nationalist who denies the Holocaust.
West says that Trump is impressed by Nick Fuentes in the video about the dinner the next day.
West also tweeted screenshots of text messages between Fuentes, West, Milo Yiannopoulos and another person, whose identity is unclear.
This screenshot shows that Fuentes is specifically identified in the screenshot. He claims he spoke with Trump. Unidentified person speculates that Jason Miller, a former Trump aide, leaked the sightings of Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago during West’s meeting. The Yiannopoulos replies that Trump’s 2024 presidential announcement speech was composed by Miller. Unidentified person then asks Fuentes if Miller told Trump at dinner that Fuentes wasn’t his favorite.
Fuentes responds: “Yes. Fuentes replies: “Yes. I told him Jason Miller had me banned from Gettr.”
West responds to that by saying, “I told Nick that Nick hated Nick’s speech.”
These developments are not the only ones. Two people, Yiannopoulos (and former Trump aide Karen Giorno) have publicly stated that Fuentes was at the dinner with West & Trump.
“Nick attended dinner and sat next to the president. Giorno stated that he sat on the right side of the president and Ye on his left. This statement was made to Tim Poole’s website Timcast. “The president invited Ye to join him for dinner, but he was alone.
Cassandra Fairbanks is the author of the article Timcast that quotes Giorno -who is now working in West’s 2024 campaign, having previously worked for Trump in 2016. Yiannopoulos then adds in a sentence citing Yiannopoulos’ record confirming the presence Fuentes at Trump’s dinner. “Though Trump allegedly flew off at Ye, he was reportedly ‘dazzled by Fuentes,” Yiannopoulos said to Timcast.
Trump’s campaign has yet to make a public statement. Breitbart News repeatedly asked Trump’s campaign for comment about this matter several times in the space of 24 hours.
Trump’s campaign issued this statement to Breitbart News after the publication of this article: “Kanye West very badly wanted to visit Mar-a-Lago. Kanye and I were supposed to have dinner together, but Kanye arrived with an unknown guest.
The Daily Beast first reported Fuentes’s presence in Mar-a-Lago. However, an anonymous source claimed that Fuentes didn’t dine with Trump. Kanye’s video and purported text messages Kanye released since then, as well as the statements made by two purported attendees, contradict this report.
These new revelations make what was once a minor story a major national story. The GOP’s frontrunner for president in 2024, the former president, seems to have met with an antisemite, white nationalist and Holocaust denier in Fuentes. Fuentes’ YouTube channel, now closed, is filled with anti- and racist rants dating back to 2014.
Fuentes claimed that Jewish people have “absolutely” damaged his existence. A clip of Fuentes denigrating the Holocaust was released in 2019. Fuentes called Donald Trump’s disavowing of white supremacy “totally incorrect” and “a big mistake.” Fuentes was also present at the Charlottesville Unite the Right rally in 2017.
He said Jim Crow laws, segregated drinking fountains, schools, and other social issues were all “better” for black and white people.
Trump also met with West less than a year after his antisemitic remarks — including threatening to “deathcon [sic]3 on JEWISH POPLE” and claiming that “Jewish people own the black voice” — caused a media firestorm. This is newsworthy for many reasons. First, Trump cannot be trusted to speak out on West’s antisemitic remarks. West claims he is running for president in 2024. He also states in the video that he asked Trump to become his vice-presidential candidate. This raises more questions about why Trump would meet up with a potential rival, no matter how serious or unscrupulous their candidacy.
Giorno was an integral part of Trump’s 2016 Florida operation and West’s hiring of Giorno is a sign that he wants to be considered a serious candidate in the White House.
Daily Beast first reported that Fuentes and West’s campaign surrogate Yiannopoulos were in Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday.
Social media buzzed with a short clip of West and Fuentes walking through Miami’s airport before the Trump-West Mar-a-Lago Meeting.
Trump’s meeting with West comes just a week after Trump announced his latest White House bid. It also marks six weeks since the Grammy-winner lost at most a dozen endorsement deals as well as a significant portion of his personal wealth due to his antisemitic comments. West refused to retract or apologize for his antisemitic remarks last month and instead doubled down and read from a spreadsheet a list of top Jewish executives from major media and entertainment companies, USA Today to Disney.
Indeed, Kanye West tweeted Tuesday “First time at Mar-a-Lago. Can’t believe Trump waited so long. You guys can imagine his reaction when I asked him to become my running mate for 2024.
