Jonah Goldberg used to be a thoughtful conservative pundit. Donald Trump forced Goldberg to have a lobotomy. Since then, he has come up with an inane plan of devastating cruelty that Kanye West would feel ashamed to share.
He really said it.
In the past, presidential candidates were elected at conventions. Today conventions are infomercials that last for four days. The state level would have a caucus. It is a small-league national convention where people behave more like their neighbors.
Gradually the direct primaries are being replaced by superdelegates, or in the case of Democrats, superdelegates, who try to avoid being on Hillary Clinton’s naughty list.
Many political wonks were left wallowing in their water-drunken wine after Trump’s win in the 2016 primary. They were so upset they didn’t vote in 2012 for John McCain or Mitt Romney.
Imagine Goldberg tweeting this message and asking for their affirmation. Then, you’ll tell them that they can vote in general elections.
