Pete Buttigieg Ripped For Using Taxpayer-Funded Private Jets Amid Calls To Cut Emissions

After flight data showed that he flew on taxpayer-funded aircraft while advocating for reducing carbon emissions, White House Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was accused of climate hypocrisy.

“Shouldn’t anyone who believes in hyper-moralism when it comes to environmentalism, shouldn’t they be those who have the most strict lives in order to keep themselves from enjoying luxuries such as private plane travel?” Kennedy, FOX Business host, asked Monday on “Outnumbered”.

Fox News Digital learned that Buttigieg has flown at least 18 times since he took office using taxpayer-funded private aircrafts.

Emily Compagno, “Outnumbered”, co-host, responded with “Walk the talk man”, It is absurd to me that tax dollars fund someone to travel to Canada to receive an award for LGBTQ rights advancement. In your symbolism for advancement, why wouldn’t you fly commercially?

“The notion that his holier-than-thou-ness is costing me? Compagno said, “That’s what I cannot take.” “I would like my tax dollars not to pay for their hypocrisy.”

Kennedy joked, “I think that he should have his bicycle all over the country.”

Rob Smith, President of the Douglass Society suggested that Buttigieg should be focusing on his presidential aspirations rather than his current White House duties because of his frequent flights to key states like Florida and Ohio.

“This is stuff we see from the elites. It was evident in Nancy Pelosi’s fracas during the lockdown. We also saw it with Gavin Newsom’s policies, which were like a $50,000 dinner. Buttigieg is a clear case. He stated that he wants to be America’s first openly gay president.

Morgan Ortagus, a former spokesperson for the State Department, argued in favor of investigations into the travel.

According to flight tracking data reviewed and analyzed by Fox News Digital, Buttigieg traveled domestically as well as internationally with a private aircraft fleet operated by the Federal Aviation Administration. These flight records match Buttigieg’s schedule of public and external engagements, as determined by the government watchdog American for Public Trust (APT).

Politico reported that Elaine Chao, the predecessor to Buttigieg, was criticised for using the same planes seven times in 2017. This cost taxpayers almost $94,000. Trump’s Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price had to resign after taking 26 private plane flights in the same year. This cost taxpayers approximately $1.2 million.
