Former Boy Meets World star Ben Savage filed paperwork with Federal Election Commission to run in California’s 30th Congressional District. Rep. Adam Schiff, a disgraced Russiagate Congressman, is currently the incumbent.
Schiff is interested in running for the seat currently held by Senator Dianne Feinstein, although she has not yet announced her intentions. It is unclear why Savage filed paperwork prior to it becoming clear that Schiff would be losing her seat. Savage is not planning to run for office anytime soon, despite being engaged. A spokesperson for Savage said that Savage is focusing on his wedding. Ben continues to make decisions and is always looking for ways to help the community.
Schiff will face a lot more competition if Feinstein decides to retire. Rep. Barbara Lee (D. Calif.), has expressed an interest in running for the seat. Rep. Katie Porter, D-Calif., who was recently accused of racism by former staffers has already declared her intention to run.
Savage unsuccessfully ran a campaign last year to be elected to the West Hollywood City Council. He has always been interested in politics. He attended Standford University to study political science and interned with Sen. Arlen Smither (R-Penn.). In 2003, Specter still pretended to be a Republican.
