After Rep. Adam Schiff announced his bid to be a U.S. Senator in California, a progressive group quickly attacked him.
Although Schiff tried to present himself as a fighter against “MAGA extremeists” and a champion for progressive values, the group criticized the long-serving California congressman over his inability to hold Trump accountable.
In the race to fill the California Senate seat currently held by Senator Dianne Feinstein (89), Schiff is joining Rep. Katie Porter, D.Calif. She has not yet announced her re-election plans.
Barbara Lee, a California Congresswoman, has stated that she will run for Feinstein’s seat. Lee has not yet made an official announcement.
As evidence of Schiff’s complacency under Trump’s administration, the PCCC cited “Unchecked” a book that was published recently. The PCCC has endorsed Porter’s candidacy, which she announced earlier in the month.
Schiff spoke out for the first time since the announcement of the campaign.
Schiff’s campaign website was launched Thursday. It states that Adam has always supported progressive values and led efforts to protect democracy.
Although it was evidently a dig at Schiff, her only opponent in the race for the nomination, her comments did not mention Schiff by name.
Fox News Digital reached out to Schiff for comment but he did not respond immediately.
California has a jungle primary system, where the top two candidates advance to the general elections, regardless of party affiliation. This makes it possible for Porter-Schiff fights in the 2024 general.
