Pelosi Gets Blasted Online for Inaccurate Tweet About Trump’s Indictment

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., released a statement Thursday night commenting on the indictment of former President Trump – a statement that has raised eyebrows due to its blatant inaccuracy on the rule of law in the United States.

Pelosi stated that the Grand Jury had followed the facts. Everybody has the right to a trial to prove their innocence. Former Presidents should also respect the system.

Pelosi’s assertion that Trump has the right to a trial to prove his innocence has attracted a lot of attention. ”

According to uscourts.gov, a fundamental principle in the United States justice system states that any person accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Until proven guilty, the presumption of innocence will be maintained. This means that the government must prove beyond reasonable doubt the defendant’s guilt.

Pelosi’s tweet was also shared on Twitter. The error was quickly pointed out by users.

Ben Shapiro of The Daily Wire tweeted: “Uh, it’s innocent until proven guilty’ and there is no opportunity to ‘prove innocence.” ”

Rudy Giuliani is a former New York City Mayor who is also Trump’s lawyer. He said: “Wrong. It’s so obvious. That’s what middle schoolers know. It doesn’t matter if you’re proven guilty.

Comedian Tim Young tweeted, “The last time Americans were asked to prove their innocence was when we were governed by British rule.”

Fox News host Mark Levin referred to the House speaker as “Stalinist Pelosi”, and attacked her.

“Prove innocent? He wrote, “Prove innocent.”

Florida Rep. Kat Cammack wrote: “Weird. I thought the standard was innocent until proven guilty. ” Welcome to the warped America of Pelosi and Biden

“You’re embarrassing @SpeakerPelosi. This case is completely political and it’s evident,” Fox News Contributor Liz Peek wrote.

Tom Fitton, President and CEO of Judicial Watch, wrote: “Pelosi confirms false political prosecution by suggesting Trump guilty till proven innocent!” ”

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., took a swipe at the former speaker. “The right to ‘prove innocence?’ This is America, not Stalinist Russia.”

In the ongoing investigation by Alvin Bragg (the Manhattan District Attorney), a New York City grand jury indicted Trump’s former President Thursday. Trump could have received hush-money payments.

The charges do not seem to be clear due to the sealing of the indictment. However, they relate to payments made before the 2016 election.

Fox News Digital discovered that Stormy Daniels was an actress in adult films and Karen McDougal was a former Playboy model.

Trump called the indictment “Political Persecution” and claimed that he was innocent. He also accused Democrats of “weaponizing justice to punish someone politically.”

Trump’s lawyer said he would be acquitted.

Trump is expected to surrender in New York early next week.

Trump is the ex-President of the United States who was the first to be indicted for criminal offenses. Trump’s bid for the White House is unclear.
