Trans-Identifying Socialist in Seattle Fires at 3 Deputies, Before Turning Gun on Himself

According to reports, a male member of Seattle Democratic Socialists of America claimed that he was a woman and shot at three sheriff’s deputies before turning on him.

Benjamin Miller and Benjamin Wheeler from King County Sheriff’s Department went to the apartment in Seattle’s Ballard to serve the last eviction notice. The resident was a 29-year-old male who was previously known as Nathan Stolsig but now goes by the nickname Eucytus after realizing that he was actually a woman.

Eucytus was briefly contacted shortly after the violence escalated. Reports suggest that gunfire broke out but it’s not clear who started the fire. The police report states that all three deputies “probably” fired back.

All three detectives were wearing bulletproof vests. Detective Easterly, a 25-year veteran of the force, was shot in the upper body by a gunshot. Easterly was stable but in critical condition on Wednesday.

Meghan Black, Independent Force Investigation Team King County stated that he was being transported to the hospital “Yesterday”.

Black claimed that the bullet “missed Easterly’s protective gear” and caused an exit wound and entry wound.

Easterly was seen by medical personnel but the suspect refused to leave his house. A preliminary report from the medical examiner stated that Eucytus had suffered a gunshot to the head.

His DSA comrades released a statement following Eucytus’ death:

Although we don’t know the exact circumstances of Eucy’s death, it is clear that the brutal and traumatizing way that deputies force people to leave their homes was a factor. DSA supports peaceful mass resistance to evictions.

This is a stark reminder of the cruelty of capitalist housing. It puts landlord profits above the human right to housing.

Homelessness and despair can result in evictions, disruptions to our education system, and the disintegration and disintegration of families, communities, and families. The Seattle DSA condemns systemic violence.

Easterly, Miller, and Wheeler have all been placed on administrative leave while an investigation into the incident continues.
