The incident occurred in Kentucky’s largest city. Police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks flooded Main Street between North Floyd Street and North Preston Streets. The shooting occurred near Slugger Field, home to the Louisville Bats, a triple-A Cincinnati Reds affiliate.
This mass shooting comes just two weeks after another tragic shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville that claimed the lives of six people, including three young children, at the hands of a woman who identified as transgender. The Associated Press reports the shooting took place at a bank, which suggests an unrelated motive for the shooting, unlike the transgender shooters, who targeted schools.
A mass shooter threatened to attack local schools last week and was arrested. The suspect was a male, 19-year-old, who claimed to be a woman. At this time, it is unclear if the shooting at Louisville, Kentucky is related to any of these incidents.
