Fox News announced that it was parting ways with Tucker Carlson, the opinion anchor and commentary host of Tucker Carlson Tonight.
Separation came as a shock on Monday morning. The reason for the split between Fox News and Carlson is not known.

In April 2020 the Tucker Carlson Tonight show surpassed Hannity to become the most-watched primetime cable program, with an average audience of 4,56 million viewers.
The show averaged 4.33 million viewers in the second quarter 2020. This was the highest number of viewers ever for a cable news program.
Mediaite 2022 reports that Carlson was the most watched host in the 25-54 demographic among Democrats across all networks in October.
