Pentagon Spokesperson Acknowledges Limited Effectiveness of Intelligence Agencies in Afghanistan Withdrawal Report Briefing

Karine Jean-Pierre is a diversity hire that can’t even read her own notes, much less wax philosophically on matters of geopolitics. Of course, the Biden administration sends John Kirby out as its Pentagon spokesperson to talk to the media whenever it comes to national security.

This happened on April 6, when Kirby was there to review and summarise Kirby’s long-awaited Afghanistan withdrawal plan.

The Pentagon and State Department shared after-action reports on the 2021 withdrawal of Afghanistan with Congress. The White House announced this at Thursday’s press conference. The White House immediately received a flood of reporters’ questions about the controversial issue, which has been debated for many years.

John Kirby, national security spokesperson was asked to comment on these findings. Two points were made by Kirby at the beginning of his briefing. The administration believes ending the war was the right decision. Trump’s inept planning left them with very few options.

Kirby also maintained that the intelligence Biden received regarding the Afghan government’s status was either flawed or faulty.

He acknowledged that “some assessments were made to him that were flawed” but it did not alter the belief he had that they would. ”

Kirby repeatedly emphasized the inability of intelligence agencies to predict the Taliban takeover in 2021. He did his best to divert blame from his bosses at the Pentagon and White House by blaming Trump, the Afghanistan government, and anyone and everything but President Brandon.

No agency could have foreseen that the Taliban would overthrow government forces in nine days. We were also informed that he planned to remain in Afghanistan until September 15th. No agency could have foreseen that Afghanistan’s 300,000-strong National Security Defense Forces would not defend their country after twenty years of American support.

Kirby claims that President Trump is ultimately responsible, even though Brandon was only eight months old at the time of the disaster withdrawal.

Trump’s Administration was replaced by the Biden Administration. The plans of the outgoing Administration didn’t include any details on how to withdraw Americans or evacuate Afghan allies.

While it is not unusual for presidential spokespersons to blame political opponents for their failures, it isn’t common for them to throw intelligence agencies under the bus with such forceful rhetoric.

Anyone who was exposed to the lies surrounding the Iraq War WMD war should not be surprised by the incompetence or dishonesty of the intelligence community.
