Glenn Kessler, Washington Post, was attacked for falsely claiming Eric Trump Jr. had tried to intimidate the judge during their father’s criminal trial. He tweeted that reports claimed the judge’s daughter worked on the Biden- Harris campaign.
According to reports, former President Donald Trump was arraigned in Manhattan before Juan Merchan. Loren Merchan is Loren Merchan’s daughter and president of Authentic Campaigns. This company manages digital campaigns for Democratic candidate candidates.
As Breitbart News reported:
Merchan’s LinkedIn archives show that she was “Director for digital persuasion” at Kamala Harris For The People between February 2019 – December 2019. This was in the 2020 presidential campaign.
The story was shared by both Trump’s sons via Twitter.
“Seems relevant… another connection during this hand-picked democrat trial. Donald Trump Jr. tweeted: “The BS never ceases folks!” ”
“They are all hand-picked. Eric Trump tweeted that the corruption was at a greater level.
Loren Merchan’s photograph was included in the stories. Kessler claimed that they attempted to intimidate Judge Kessler and his family by tweeting about those reports.
“Both Trump boys now have posted photos the judge’s daughter.” Kessler sent the tweets with screenshots.
Kesslers’ screenshots had strangely absent links that linked to stories with Loren Merchan’s photo.
The fact-checker was quickly attacked by journalists and pundits for not mentioning context.
Joe Concha, The Hill columnist tweeted that “Both were directly linking to a news article and thereby already putting the information into the public domain. “But, the WaPo “fact-checker” removed that part. ”
Benjamin Weingarten (Real Clear Investigations reporter) sarcastically quoted Kessler’s “totally irrelevant” language in response to the tweet.
Kessler was questioned by Mollie Hingway, Federalist editor-in-chief. GLENN. WOW. BANNER FREAKING WEEK.
Washington Free Beacon reported on Chuck Ross’s correct observation that Trump’s tweets included links to reports about the daughter of the judge. Ross replied to Kessler with, “They linked an article that had photos of the judge’s little girl. ”
Jack Posobiec contacted Twitter’s Community Notes to request a disclaimer for Kessler’s tweet. This would give context.
Don tweeted a link to a story about the judge’s family of democratic political connections — connections this actual descentant to Nazi war crimes and heir to an Nazi fortune tries hide,” Arthur Schwartz (a GOP strategist) tweeted at Kessler.
Republican Strategist Andrew Surabian stated that Kessler will be fired immediately if he lies in a “sane world”.
“You are a liar.” Both shared a Breitbart article on the judge’s daughter who worked with Kamala Harris. Surabian tweeted that it wasn’t a photograph. “Last time I checked, journalists considered politicians public figures. ” “In a rational universe, a fact-checker who lies will be fired immediately. ”
Surabian stated, “You call yourselves fact-checker.” “You fact-check people for things like leaving context out of their statements. So why did you lie and say Don Jr. or Eric uploaded a photo of the judge’s daughter instead telling them the truth that Eric posted the link to a news story? ”
Kessler said that he didn’t include links Trump sons tweeted, nearly two hours after sending his original tweet.
Surabian also criticized MSNBC’s Joyce Alene and claimed that Donald Trump Jr. had “posted an image of the judge’s kid.” ”
Surabian pointed out Don had posted a Breitbart article about Don’s daughter at Kamala Harris. Surabian said that this tweet was a fabrication. Joyce, however, is a dishonest hack so she will leave the tweet up instead of deleting it. ”
Greg Price, State Freedom Caucus Network communications Director, lamented Alene’s claim about Alene’s connections with the Biden-Harris campaign being “not a conflict for the judge.” ”
Price tweeted: “Don Jr. posted news showing that the judge in Trump’s case is a Dem donor, and whose daughter worked alongside Kamala and Biden. ” “Normally, this would cause a conflict of interests which would make it impossible for a judge to recuse. It doesn’t if you are a Stalinist.
CNN’s John King caused outrage when he falsely claimed that Donald Trump Jr. “tweeted” a photo of himself and his daughter to intimidate and attack him and his family.
Richard Grenell, an ex-official in the Trump administration, claimed that CNN tried to hide the story. “
