White House Approves Fresh $320M+ Military Aid Package For Ukraine

The White House has approved a new military aid package for Ukraine. The U.S. stores can provide Kiev with $325 million worth of battlefield supplies.

The announcement was made on the same day that Ukraine’s Minister for Defense announced his country had just received U.S. Patriot Surface-to-Air Guided Missile Systems, which it has long wanted.

UPI reported on the latest equipment, which included ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems.

The Pentagon is pulling all ammunition out of its stock to speed up delivery to frontlines.

The assistance provided is through the Presidential Drawdown Authority. This authority allows the President to use existing U.S. weapon stocks for assistance.

The latest assistance package is the 36th time that the Presidential Drawdown Authority was used to provide Ukraine since Russia invaded Ukraine in full scale on February 20, 2022.

In the first week of this month, the White House announced a package of military aid worth $2.6 billion.

The aid package includes $2.1 Billion for anti-armor and air defense systems as well as $500 Million for ammunition.

The announcement, according to AP was made before a meeting of military and defense leaders from over 50 countries on Friday in Germany who will discuss future security assistance for Ukraine and plan it.

About a month ago, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin formed the Ukraine Contact Group to better coordinate military aid and weapons for Ukraine that continue to flow in from all over the world. However, the Pentagon remains the primary source.

The United States’ new aid package includes more than nine million rounds of small arm ammunition, spare parts, and demolition munition to clear routes. It also includes equipment and 4 logistic support vehicles (for harbor maintenance).
