Boebert Slams Fetterman For Wearing Hoodie, Shorts To Senate News Conference

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) criticized Democratic Senator John Fetterman for his “unbecoming decision” to attend a Senate Press Conference while wearing a sweatshirt and shorts.

Boebert tweeted: “John Fetterman redefined Casual Thursday on a Friday morning.” It’s unworthy for anyone to turn up in that manner to any job.

The Pennsylvania Senator attended a news conference on Thursday to discuss debt limits negotiations while wearing a white sweatshirt, gray shorts and running shoes. He stood alongside four other Democratic Senators dressed in suits and ties.

In a tweet criticizing Fetterman’s Senate clothing, the Colorado Republican stated: “There is just no excuse.”

Fetterman, who was the Mayor of Braddock at the time and ran for the Pennsylvania Senate during that period, was well-known for wearing sweats to work. However, he raised eyebrows by showing up in a hoodie when he appeared before the United States Senate.

Since his return from six-weeks hospitalization, during which he was treated for clinical depressive disorder, Fetterman’s been seen in the Senate wearing a hoodie with shorts.

Fetterman first checked himself in to the hospital in February and returned in person to the Senate in April.

The Senator wore a blue casual short and a black Carhart sweatshirt on his first appearance at the chamber after his hospitalization of several weeks.

The office of Fetterman did not immediately respond to a request for comments on Boebert’s criticism.

Fox News Digital reported that the Senator’s Office doctored the transcriptions of his hearings in order to make them more palatable, due to concerns about the Senators’ health.
