California Probes Alleged Arrival of Undocumented Immigrants by Plane with Florida Paperwork

Over a dozen migrants arrived in Sacramento, California, on a private jet without any prior arrangement or care in place according to California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom. The migrants presented documents “purporting to be from the government of the State of Florida,” according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta.

Looks like Florida Governor Ron Desantis has done a “Newsom’s Vineyard” by claiming the Republican Presidential candidate status. DeSantis, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and the Republican Party of Texas sent two planes with migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in September of last year. Former President Barack Obama and his wife live on the picturesque Massachusetts island in an estate valued at $11,750,000,000.

Newsom’s Office released a press statement in which it stated:

Attorney-General Rob Bonta and I met today in Sacramento. They had been flown to New Mexico by private jet, then dropped off at a Sacramento church. My Administration works closely with local partners and nonprofits, to ensure the people arriving are treated with respect and dignity, while they pursue immigration cases. My Administration is also working with the California Department of Justice to investigate who paid for the group’s trip, as well as whether the individuals who organized the trip misled

After arriving in California the migrants were taken by bus to the Roman Catholic diocese office in Sacramento.

The statement notes that the California Attorney General is investigating potential criminal or civil action against those involved in the arranging and facilitation of the transport of immigrants. This includes possible kidnapping allegations. DeSantis also was the subject of a similar investigation following last year’s transport.

The office of AG Rob Bonta issued a similar statement on Saturday:

The migrants I met today were transported by private plane without any arrangements or care.

Sacramento Area Congregations Together is a non-profit group comprised of local religious congregations which provide assistance to migrants. According to ACT, private contractors approached the migrants outside a migrant center in El Paso and offered them employment.

Cecilia Flores, a spokesperson for ACT, is a woman. She described their reaction when they reached the church.

They started asking “What city are you in?” Many people didn’t realize Sacramento was in California. They were instructed to go to the refuge where they could get help.

A representative from Barry Aviation in San Marcos, Texas, which operates the charter plane that transports migrants, referred to it as a “government flight”.

A representative for Barry Aviation, a charter service based in San Marcos, Texas, that operated the charter aircraft used to transport the migrants described it as a “government flight”:

It’s something that the government ran.

According to ACT representatives, the group is composed of 16 individuals, both men, and women, aged 20 to 30.
