Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority leader, froze during a Wednesday press conference. After almost 30 seconds of silence, his colleagues led him away, not seeming to know where he was.

McConnell’s freeze-up was not immediately understood. In March he suffered a concussion and a fall, which kept him away from the Senate for a long time. McConnell’s age of 81 was also a contributing factor.
Recent discussions have focused on the age of Washington politicians. If he were to be re-elected for a second term, President Joe Biden will be 82 while Donald Trump will be 79. Many members of Congress have reached 80 years old or more.
Unfortunately, old age is inevitable. This is a universal truth, and the Republican Party cannot ignore this public event. I’d assume that a statement will be forthcoming.
This is a developing story, we will provide updates as they become available.
