During Congressional hearings there is often an implied demand from Democrats to suspend your disbelief and accept their narrative for a couple of hours. Their witnesses seem to support them.
Rep. Wesley Hunt, a Republican who is opposed to playing along with these events in the name of love, peace, and harmony, or for whatever reason, is one of those Republicans.
Hunt’s passion and love for his daughters were on full display at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday, which was held by the House Judiciary Subcommittee for Constitution and Limited Government. The topic of the hearing was “The dangers and due process violations of gender-affirming care.”
According to the website of the hearings, the purpose was to “examine how adults in positions of authority are coercing children into medically and life-altering gender transition procedures, without a full understanding of their meaning and impact.”
Hunt was not shy about expressing his opinion, but he took the time to explain to his two and four-year-old daughters that he felt he had a responsibility to them to ensure they did not have to worry in their future about competing against men in sports for women or changing in front men in the locker room.
Hunt’s voice rose to full “girl father” mode as he declared: “My daughters WILL NOT CHANGE in front of men biological.”
Hunt gestured with his hands to the room, saying “This is ridiculous.” If you think that we are all the same and equal biologically, then you have literally lost your head.
Hunt said, “If you believe I’m wrong, then I am not at fault – I can confirm this.” He went on to pledge to defend young women in the country and his own daughters from the madness.

Hunt, who was addressing the issue of gender-affirming care for minors during the hearing, displayed an ice-cream pyramid chart and made a comparison between a child wanting ice cream all the time and if they say or do things that their parents may consider indicators that they wish to be able to choose another gender.
This is the food pyramid, according to my 4-year-old daughter and my 2-year-old daughter. In the Hunt household, we do not eat Ben and Jerry’s. Only Blue Bell. My children would eat ice cream at every meal, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The wisdom of children! In a country where people are sane, we understand that children can’t make decisions that affect their entire lives. It’s for this reason that we have parents. “Our children cry out for ice cream, but we know as parents that it is not in the best interest of our children, especially their long-term interests.”
Hunt thanked his parents for refusing to give in to his whims as a child.
I want to thank Willie Hunt and Diane Hunt. They had three kids. All three of us attended West Point. All three of our family members served their country. All three of our master’s degrees were earned at Ivy League universities. What is the reason? My parents refused to listen to the ideas of an adolescent Wesley Hunt. My parents did not listen to me as a child. They raised us. They raised us. “They taught us how to be successful people.

Hunt’s ice-cream comparison faux-fended Rep. Veronica Escobar, (D-Texas), and she went on to apologize profusely to parents who were present. Hunt was branded as insensitive and cruel by Escobar and he accidentally proved his point.
We need more Wesley Hunts who will stand up for what is right and common sense. The futures of American young women are at risk when people do nothing and hope that the problem will disappear.
They will not.

We have an obligation to protect our children, to raise our children, and our children belong to us, not to the state, not to the AMA, and not to Joe Biden.
As a girl dad this is priority #1. pic.twitter.com/k2QNXlsFbd
