Biden’s administration has been reported to have targeted hundreds of gun dealers, resulting in the loss of their licenses. This has caused anger among the dealers and the feeling that they were being targeted.
The Wall Street Journal reported that during the last fiscal year, which began in October, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives revoked the licenses of 122 gun sellers. This is an increase from 90 in the previous year and 27 in 2020.
The number of licenses that were revoked during the Obama and Trump presidencies never exceeded 81.
Some gun manufacturers are claiming that they have been unfairly targeted by politicians for paperwork mistakes as part of a campaign to reduce gun violence, which has been vocally promoted by President Biden.
Anthony Navarro told the Wall Street Journal that he used to make $1 million yearly, but now he makes less than $100,000. He lost his gun dealer’s license last year following three warnings from 2009 for violating legal laws. This policy is a backdoor violation of the Second Amendment.
Navarro claimed that he received warnings about mistakes made by gun buyers on their paperwork, but they were not prohibited from purchasing guns.
Some have pointed out how gun dealers can be strong allies for the federal government, providing information on suspect gun buyers. The crackdown could harm this relationship.

The ATF stated that it follows the law in a press release.
ATF spokesperson Kristina Masstropasqua stated that “Federal Firearms Licensees often act as our first line defense against gun crimes and provide critical information to law enforcement in order to identify straw purchasers, disrupt firearms trafficking plans, and disrupt the schemes.” FFLs who willfully break the law must be held responsible. ATF inspects licensees to ensure that they are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and laws.
